They 86'ed my dad because he won the bartender at pool... This night my neighbor wanted to play pool so I went... She was great bartenders a little rude but... That's ok

I first came to Longbeach from the UK to see a brother in 1987 but was too young to fully appreciate a traditional spit and sawdust type boozer. Anyway, I soon made up for that by following up with several more visits over the years. One year, I recall returning to the UK and someone asking me if I really had been to California as I didn’t have much of a suntan? I guess you don’t get too much sun in O’Connell’s… Haven’t been for many years sadly but I’m sure it’s as good as it always was…

We aren't from here and wanted to go grab a drink and watch the baseball game. Great crowd! Bartenders were amazing, strong drinks, great prices. Definitely a good place to hang out.

Great place to come and have a couple drinks and a great time. The oldest bar in Long Beach, pool tables, shuffle board, a Jukebox and TV's all around. MVP's is conveniently connected to the bar also and will deliver your food to your table or barstool. You can't beat it.

Much nicer under the New ownership! You can order food next door at MVPs and they will bring it to you. Bartenders are cool, especially Miguel & Becca!!

My absolute FAVORITE dive bar or "hood' bar in Long Beach. Strong drinks, low prices, fantastic bartenders and awesome locals! They have pool tables and an excellent juke box, what else can you ask for?
