Straw Hat Pizza

Recently made a trip to this straw hat location and as a first time customer who now lives locally, I will never be returning! My spouse called in the order before hand which I planned on picking up on the way home. Arrived and ended up waiting 30 mins in line. I even went up to an employee and asked if I had to wait seeing that the order had already been called in. She replied yes. Once I finally made it to the counter I suggested to the cashier that they should really have a separate line for those that had called in. She replied "oh you should have come straight to the front." REALLY!!! No apologizes or anything! This will be my first and last time visiting this restaurant! Additionally, before I wrote this review, I noticed that the business owner responded to a previous yelper who also had a negative experience. This business owner really needs to learn professionalism and how to provide customer service. I appreciate that you love your loyal local customers but a big part of growing your business (or staying in business for that matter) is to acknowledge mistakes and not provide excuses. Business 101!

Well the pizza came out pretty fast. One problem is only one trip to the salad bar, used to get a new plate and go back. The biggest thing is that my grandson found a HAIR in his slice of pizza. When I went up to the counter and told the lady about it she said. What do you want me to do about it? Funny thing is if that happened else where they most likely wouldn't have said what do you want me to do about it. Not sure if we will Ever go back!!!

We love this place and used to visit all the time when we lived in Long Beach. Now we are 20 minutes from Long Beach and travel out there if we want great pizza. We have tried all the pizza places by our new place over the past 3 years and none compare to Straw Hat. And we have never experienced an attitude or bad customer service so I don't know what these people are talking about. Maybe its the way they came off to the employees.

The staff is super friendly and polite and they hustle hard! Only thing is this place is understaffed and can't deal with a rush in a timely manner. But I still give 4/5 stars because they killed it that night our team popped up after promotion night. I would come back here for sure. Food was decent and prices are fair.
