The Lost Roo

First time trying this place and it was great. Staff was friendly. Food was good. The drinks were good. The place has a great atmosphere. Great decor. Has a family section and a bar area. The restroom was very clean and wheelchair accessible. They also have a family restroom which is great for people with kids. Ample parking. Located right on the main street into Long Beach. We went on a busy Saturday and they warned us they were a little short staffed, but they did great. Will definitely eat here again next time I'm in Long Beach!

We had an okay time here. Prices are average . Service was attentive without being overbearing. One star down for our oysters not showing up till after we got our meals but that’s okay- according to my husband they were worth the wait. The restaurant itself is roomy and big. Loved all the kangaroo decorations and paintings ! My burger was delicious.

We came in on a Friday night and they were BUSY! Still managed to get us seated right away, our server was attentive, and we got our food in under 20 minutes. We had the basic burger, crab melt, bay shrimp Louie salad, and a bowl of chowder. Everyone was happy with happy with their meal and agreed they’d return. I wish there was a little more transparency with the market value of crab for the day. The crab melt was $28, which was a little unexpected but it was still tasty!

Our waiter Shawn was so friendly towards our three small kids and didn’t mind when they were crabby about waiting for their food. They loved him! Our food was SO good. We kept raving about it the whole time we were eating. I got the prawns tempura and hubby got the Baja fish tacos. Both were so good. The prawns were huge and cooked absolutely perfectly. His tacos were delicious too. And they have probably the best tartar sauce I’ve ever had!! I wish I could buy it! Anyways, we’ll definitely be back every time we come to Long Beach! Such a great vibe too. Very family friendly.

Amazing Chowder. One of the best I have ever had. The Jumbo Gumbo was delicious as well, just enough heat to break a sweat but not enough to over power all the other wonderful flavors. Shrimp was cooked to PERFECTION. 3 Kids got the Joey cheeseburger with fries and all 3 were done before I could even snap a picture. Server was on top of everything. Best service I've gotten in a LONG TIME. Definitely recommend. If they could handle our family of 9 they can handle yours.
