River Road Bbq

Once we arrived here from Texas (home of The BBQ Brisket Masters) folks round here told us,” Kentucky doesn’t have any good bbq spots,” and we were just driving through the scenic route and had no intention of eating bbq when My wife swung in here and the pit brewing in front while seeing a wheel barrel full of cherry oak had me a bit open to eating here. Once my wife and I ordered a Sandwich plate to share we said to one another,” Well I guess dem folks ain’t come out here,” being a BBQ connoisseur Who’s smoked thousands of #’s of beef, pork, turkey, and chicken I’m thankful when I want Bbq I got somewhere to come. Thank you, Rachel for the superb service and enlightening us who owns the spot and how it has gotten where it’s at and Jackson for telling us how long they’ve been here and what’s good to eat. We shall return Lord willing #riveroadboutdatbbq from fellow Smoke Patnas from Tejas good job!

Stopped by unexpectedly for something different, tried 2 of their tacos, the Polish link, and the pulled pork, they both come topped with slaw on a corn-based shell, So it was safe for my GF diet restrictions. They were delicious with huge portions and very friendly staff, We ate outside at the really nice picnic tables and enjoyed the smells coming from the huge smoker, we will definitely go back for more tacos

Do not judge a book by its cover! Looks spartan almost like a catering company not a restaurant. WRONG! Yes it is spartan, unassuming. HOWEVER, note the large smokers out front. Full of pork but/shoulder and brisket. Ribs came out a bit earlier. Xl brisket sandwich so moist. Super tasty. Brisket taco was fantastic. Potato salad great flavor. So amazing and so clean. Seriously these lady’s run a bbq stand with all the flavors in a nice little side of the road location. “In a van down by the river” Has new meaning to me. Stop in today only if you are hungry!!!!!
