I have enjoyed Hy-Vee since I was a little one and my grandparents used to take me there for breakfast all the time.
Now that I am older I depend on them for having the best brand of Gluten-Free products, Good Grace's. Seriously the best brand for pasta by far. It's the perfect combo of corn and rice and it has the best taste. I recommend for anyone new to the gluten free game.
My wife loves Hy-Vee for their extensive bakery (especially their fresh bread). She also loves the Chinese food they sell there in the hot food section. It's affordable and you get a good amount of food for the price.
They have a lot of dreat deals and their specialization sections like their deli, bakery, prepared foods section, the market grill, and a pretty sweet meat counter.
Those location also has a Wahlburgers but we have nor has the pleasure of having it as I still think it's over priced lol. But it looks yummy.
We love that they carry a bunch of Midwest specific brands that other stores do not that we love cooking with.
I have bought my wife flowers from here multiple times and it always is fairly priced and they're good at short notices.
Their multicultural sections in the grocery department is very extensive which is surprising since it's not a huge of a store as a Woodmens or Walmart. So it holds its own.

To make a long story short I went to the Hy-Vee store on E. Washington St. in Madison Wisconsin and made a meat order for a variety of items. One of those was an order for 10 preformed hamburger patties each of which would weigh 1/2 pound and would be made from hamburger that was labeled is 85% – 15%. I made the order on Monday, June 6. On Tuesday, June 7 I was told the order was never made and return on Wednesday, June 8 which I did. When I return to pick up the order there was three very large packages of hamburger and I asked at the time if they were the 10 patties made in the 1/2 pound formed patties and I was assured they were. I took them home put them in refrigerator and on Thursday morning my wife cooked 23 of the patties and wanted to know why I had purchased so many of them . When I told her what I had actually purchased, she told me that she had already cooked well over 20 preformed hamburger patties and had a whole other package yet to be fried. I return to the store to take it all back. The customer service manager was a young man by the name of Alan . He went back to the meat department and found out that I was overcharged for all the meat and that I have been given well over my original order of 5 pounds. The only thing he was willing to do was to refund the overage that I had originally been charged and refunded a small portion of my purchase. Now I’m left with more hamburger patties that I need and are not the correct size of patty in the first place. I had anticipated a refund for the entire purchase and was certainly willing to bring them back 23 frozen patties but they refused. Alan, the customer service representative, was not at all helpful and I will not be returning to the store ever to purchase anything.

Went for lunch. Order and fulfillment was a little rough but once I got that figured out it was a great experience. Ordered the two entree platter. Three mini spring rolls fried rice sesame chicken and general TSO chicken. Overall good time

Was a customer ever since they opened. In-Store shopping is good. Deliver and Pick Up has been sub par. Due to health issues I need to use this kind of service.
I've had to complain to Hy-vee multiple times for poor delivery service. I thought by joining the Plus Membership, I would get better service. I didn't. Frequently, I would get incorrect items. I'd let someone at Aisles know. I was assured that they'd do better. My default is paper bags and it would get delivered in plastic. I'd complain, and would be told they'd make it better next time. I'd get the wrong order sometimes, or large parts of my order weren't delivered, they'd still be at the store because someone forgot to send it. This time, they completely delivered the wrong order. Not a single thing delivered was correct. I called immediately and let them know. Sorry, can't deliver your groceries, Aisles is closed now. I speak to a manager, and he apologizes and said he'll get my order ready so I can pick it up, and call me when it's ready. I wait an hour and call to see if it's ready. The Aisles manager has left for the night and did not get my order ready, nor did he contact me. I was left hanging. I had plans. I needed some of the food in that order. I'm livid. Night ruined. I've cancelled my Plus Membership because it is not worth it. It was supposed to be a premium service, and it wasn't. It in no way lived up to its advertising. And the manager that night told me I shouldn't use Door Dash. I don't use Door Dash - Hy-Vee does. I don't have a Door Dash account. As far Door Dash is concerned, they're fulfilling the order for Hy-Vee. They deliver for you not me. I have no reference number or to complain with. I've already let Door Dash know that Hy-vee doesn't recommend me using Door Dash. That's nice to hear a partner say. I've used a LOT of online services and delivery services. The ONLY one I've had complaints with is Hy-vee's. I hoped the delivery service would be good. It really is terrible. I hoped it would get better and it hasn't. I've talked with Managers at the store, and they assured me things would get better. It just never did. And I was treated horribly this last time. I still can't believe how there was an utter disregard for my time. I postponed plans so I could pick up that order. I needed items from that order. I canceled my plans because that. NOBODY knew what I was talking about when I called back. Unacceptable. Just. wow... terrible. I WAS a customer... I'm not anymore. I cannot recommend Hy-vee. I will not recommend Hy-vee... I help organize corporate events and we've used them before, but will not recommend them in the future. I do not normally review. But this was probably the worst customer experience I have ever had.
Note: when they finally did deliver my groceries,... the discussions we had, they still managed to mess it up. Unbelievable.

EDIT : They gave us a refund and we got the cutest smash cake to take my daughters one year pictures (it was also very delicious! I appreciate the store making this situation better! Impressed with the fresh cake and cupcakes. We are going on day 5 almost and the cupcakes are still good ! 10/10 for that.
0/10 for the extremely rude lady on the phone. Won’t get into that though ! :) thanks Hyvee for making this right.
So disappointed. I preordered 6 DOZEN cupcakes for my daughters first birthday party. I put the order in days ahead; thinking this was a nice thing to do, so they could plan accordingly. Bad idea. When picking up the cupcakes at the scheduled time, it was clear they had made these cupcakes DAYS ahead of time. They were dry and gross!!! Totally inedible the next day. I payed nearly $100. On top of it I ordered 6 different types of cupcakes, but the frosting all looked the same. So it was impossible to tell what was what. Would have been nice to have them separated by the dozen. Very very very disappointed.
