Glaze Teriyaki

So full of promise, but lacking execution. The spring mix salad which probably came from a bag was fine, the rice was mush, the chicken OK. Summers in Madison can be slow, so service and quality can suffer. I was ignored when I entered by the two visible staff members who were fulfilling the order of the girls ahead of me. The chicken I was served was on a pile of prepared food on the grill which was fine. Perhaps on a busy day orders are made fresh. A bit dry when I took my first bite. I bet when school is in this place runs on all cylinders and is fresh, but this was not a good first experience. Other good Asian in town, so you can skip this place

I'm a regular customer and usually enjoy the food today but my experience today was very disappointing. I ordered a salmon plate with double protein, but some of the salmon wasn't cooked all the way through (it was still deep pink/red inside). I also noticed when looking at my receipt that the discount I used did not actually go through and I was overcharged. Debating not coming back after this experience.

I have really enjoyed my experience every time I've come here. Food is simple, but balanced, and a very fair price, especially compared to other restaurants in Madison (seriously, how often can you get an entree for around $8?). I love the chicken thigh teriyaki plus the carrot ginger dressing. When I've tried the other meats, they weren't too great--the chicken breast was really dry and the steak was kind of tough, but the chicken thigh is always moist and flavorful. I wish it was easier to get to so I could eat there more often!

I have eaten here a few times in the past and the food and service was around mediocre-decent. When I walked in I was slightly put off by how strongly the room smelled of smoke. I ordered and got my food quickly but realized later that either they made my order twice, called my name on the wrong order, or had some mixup. I sat a while to study and they ended up giving a Togo order to the wrong delivery man and had a GrubHub guy waiting for his delivery. Throughout this entire time the two employees were bickering and arguing making for an unpleasant experience. For the price I will not be going back.

They burned some chicken on the grill and so the restaurant smelled heavily of smoke. Food was pretty low quality comparable to a cheap Chinese restaurant. We told them "for here" but they gave us the food in to-go packages. Tables had an unpleasant sticky texture. Somewhat long wait - I found myself wishing we had gone to a Poke place next door where we would have had the food immediately. They ran out of all of the sauces in between "sweet" and the "extra extra hot with jalapeños." They ran out of cups for the water dispenser. I won't be going back.

My new favorite place on State. For around $10, you get a choice of protein, rice/greens, and sauces for the protein and base. It's extremely filling and tastes fresh. Plus the grill marks are for real. Combos let you try more protein options (combo A) or a side (combo B). Their drinks are unique and flavored real sugar cane. I like the green apple flavor. I've come enough to get almost two free meals from their loyalty card! :)
