Steam Pump Tea Room

We arrived at 12pm. Cafe was busy but the waitress helped us find a seat. Had delicious breakfast. My veggie breakfast is pictured here. We came back later for tea and cake. Cafe full all the time. Doing a roaring trade! Scone a bit hard if I'm honest but everything else was top hole so no complaints from us 👍

I only came here for breakfast with my neighbour..... this time! The tea room has lots of outside seating with shade, fast service, excellent food (I had eggs Royale) & fair prices. The warm sunny weather was a welcome addition. 😊🌞 If you use the toilets you can get a sneak peek at one of the main museum display halls. I'm definitely going to come back at some point to look around the museum properly. You doo have to pay to go around, but prices are quite fair. The miniature, working, ride-on steam train is another great attraction for kids, engineering types & train enthusiasts. Check that the train is running before coming though.

Wow, what a find! We were making the most of a mild autumn day outside when we stumbled across The Steam Pump Tea Room. The tea room is conveniently located alongside the museum in the former Langford Pumping Station, and the building has been beautifully restored to serve these new purposes. The homemade Victoria sponge was delicious (and a huge slice!), and the Terry's Chocolate Orange hot chocolate was out of this world and something I've never seen offered in any other cafe! Thank you for making our day, Sam and team!
