General Warren

The beef Wellington was absolutely delicious. There were four of us and every one was raving about their appetizer & dinner. The drinks were great too! The service was excellent, friendly & very professional. The best meal and atmosphere I’ve had in a while! Highly recommended!! I cant wait to go back.

The General Warren absolutely met all expectations!! My wife and just celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary there. I initially went because I heard they had a great Snapper Soup, and it is. But now I don’t know if I can order any entree other than the Steak Au Poivre. It was a excellent!! Everything was great, the service, the servers, the drinks, the food. Just everything. We’ll definitely be back and we’ll tell others about this place.

Had a terrific Easter brunch at the historic General Warren Inn. Have not been there in many years. The place looked great. They must have completed some renovations recently because it was really updated. The food was terrific and the service was very good. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is because the menu is traditional without many inventive items. But what they make, they make extremely well!!

I can't say enough wonderful things about the General Warren. We just had our wedding there last weekend, using their intimate wedding package, and if I had it to do again I wouldn't change a single thing. The food is fantastic, and they made our cake in-house. The price was perfect; it was like taking our family out for dinner and drinks. There are eight hotel suites upstairs, and our wedding booked them all. They were clean and so comfortable, furnished with antiques. My hair and makeup artist came and did all my preparations in our suite. We had the entire property to ourselves for a lot of the weekend because they are only open for dinner. The venue is meticulously maintained, so our photos look gorgeous. Patrick, the owner, is very easy to work with and answered all of my anxious bride emails quickly. The feedback from our families was mostly, "Wow, how did you find this place? It's amazing!" Every single staff member I talked to, from the owner to the bar tenders to the waitstaff and the woman in charge of hospitality was professional and warm. We also enjoyed the breakfast pastries in the mornings (made to order so they come out nice and hot)! The morning after our wedding, my new husband and I went back to the ceremony site for a few minutes alone and he said that we should come back for anniversary dinners in the coming years. I can't think of anything more perfect. If you have a wedding with 50 or fewer guests in the area, I can't recommend this place enough. Our wedding ran perfectly and smoothy and our families were very well taken care of all weekend!

We wanted to try this restaurant while we were in the area and we're very glad we did! The service was impeccable, the food was excellent, and the building and its history was really interesting! We both started with the lobster deviled eggs, which were very good. Then we both got steak (one a version of the au poivre with some substitutions to address a lactose intolerance and one a beef wellington). Both steaks were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The beef wellington was delicious! For dessert, we got German chocolate cake that was also very good. We would absolutely go back!

We stopped by for a drink and to see the venue for a dinner we're having for some family and friends. Sean was so incredibly kind and accommodating. He showed us the room we would use as well as the overnight spaces, in case we, or any of our guest wanted them. Offered up a current menu as an idea of what our might look like. It was such an informative and pleasant experience, we made our decision right there at the bar over a couple pints of Guiness! Couldn't recommend this place more highly. 👌

Lovely restaurant, atmosphere was tranquil. The 3 stars is about the food. Bread basket, meh, and the tasteless white rolls were not warmed. Steak frites, the steak slices were swimming in a sauce and the fries were pretty tasteless. . Too much sauce in my opinion. The children’s menu had Mac and cheese, well it was Kraft Mac and cheese. I would expect better from a fine dining, white table cloth establishment. Then to top it off a make kitchen staff member used the ladies room (I was waiting outside the door), which is fine, but at least put the seat back down!
