Zoup!

I stopped in Zoup yesterday because I was just craving soup. They have a great variety and couldn't make up my mind so I picked 3, lobster bisque, chicken chili and mushroom barley....all very good. Wish the lobster bisque had more chunks in it, but that is just a wish and not a fault....Denny was very pleasant, organized and careful when packaging up my "to go" bag. Plenty of space to dine in, but had to take it to go. I noticed that they sell gift cards, too.

This location used to be great. Good food, quick service, very convenient. Now it's a former shell of itself. It's not even open most days. Waited over 20 minutes for a try 2 combo...and as you all know, the soup is already made...so it's just the sandwich that takes a few minutes of prep ( and now the sandwiches only get one slice of deli meat. )This was with only one customer ahead of me. Sorry wish it was like it used to be....

I have been to Zoup before, so I was excited that they opened one closer to my home as I have enjoyed the food in the past. Ordering the food and receiving was fast and customer service initially was very friendly. A few bites into my salad I noticed an insect on my lettuce and put it in a napkin, after digging around I found another. I am not one to overreact, but I immediately lost my appetite and brought the plate to the counter. I waited a few minutes before the 2 girls working there came out out of the kitchen and showed them the one bug as the other was already in the trash. She issued a refund, but my problem was with what she told me while doing so (that's it's normal and they just don't wash their vegetables good enough) and being stared down by the other employee as if I was wrong for bringing it to their attention. I hesitated on whether or not to write this review, but these girls are a representation of your company. The convo should have ended at apologizing and issuing a refund, not an explanation that it's normal to happen, I am sure it happens, but it is still disappointing and I shouldn't be stared down to make me even more uncomfortable.

I tried place for the first time yesterday. I love lobster bisque so was happy to see it was on the menu and ordered the XL to take home for dinner for the family. What we had was not lobster bisque it was more like a seafood soup with not much seafood in it. Lobster bisque should be rich creamy and thick. What Zoup calls lobster bisque is very thin like broth and not creamy at all. It had a nice flavor so I'm giving 2 stars but it wasn't what I had really wanted and it's very expensive compared to Wawa which has some very nice soups. So a waste of $15 :/. Edit: Forgot to mention staff there was very friendly and attentive. Also CS was very friendly and invited me to try Zoup again. I will post a new edit once I try again.
