We were with a post-funeral lunch party, allocated a large dining room to ourselves. Nice atmosphere surrounded by period artefacts. Lovely friendly team made us very welcome. Excellent buffet, full of interesting treats. Good range of beers and wines. Pleasant outdoor seating and dining area, full of people enjoying their lunch in the sunshine. Bonus of a large tarmaced car park.

We went for a Sunday lunch and all of the food was delicious, great beef and Yorkshire puddings.
The service was fantastic and Rebecca was the most friendly and attentive server, despite clearly having a lot of big tables to wait , we were never kept waiting. Thanks Rebecca :)

Lunch was really good great place to meet up.

Staff very considerate and caring. It made our visits for lunch and a drink very easy as my mother is a wheelchair user. They were kind enough to remember from our previous visits and guided us to the most appropriate table to comfortably fit whilst remaining in the wheelchair. Very professional and pleasant staff, can't praise them enough.

Out for lunch today with friends for a birthday celebration meal & it was absolutely gorgeous.
It's years since I've been in the Metropolitan but certainly won't be as long until my next visit.

Visited the metropolitan at the weekend for the first time in 15 years! At one time this place was a regular haunt for me when living in south Manchester.

It was a real treat for me to return and I wasn't disappointed. It's still in my opinion one of the best pubs in Manchester and the atmosphere was as good as I remember. I certainly won't be leaving another 15 years until my next visit....

Lovely time here for a birthday lunch. Rebecca was extremely helpful and friendly and provided exceptional service. The food was great, it was very tasty, filling and quick. We had one problem with an incorrect item coming out but this was corrected very quickly. They also sang happy birthday which was a lovely added touch. Would definitely come back again.

I made the mistake of sitting in the Dog friendly area and all I could hear is woofing and barking.
Admittedly it was advertised that it’s the Dog friendly section so next time I will sit the other side of the pub.
The food was nice and delivered quickly, it’s really easy to order on the app.
It’s probably the stalwart of pubs in West Didsbury so I would recommend this place.
