We only called in for 1 drink ended up having 5 each and a meal. The food was really nice also the bar man Tom was amazing polite and friendly would definitely recommend and will return

Great atmosphere, honeslty one of the best pubs in manchester, great staff, sion and faith were both great as well as the rest of the staff

We stayed on a Friday night - £75 for the night which was reasonable. The room comes with tea, coffee, milk ect and a kettle - the towels were fresh and the room had black out curtains. Check out is 11am which is ideal 🙌🏽 and the bar downstairs has gorgeous live music 🎵 the bar uses the mixr loyalty scheme also.

Hotel stay - lovely staff, hotel very clean and modern, no complaints there. As mentioned before, it is above the pub so it can be loud until it closes at around 11:30pm, so bare that in mind. Otherwise great stay!

Lovely choice of beers across the board. Four cask ales, one cask cider, three or so keg beers, plus the usual wide selection of lagers and Guinness.
Service great too.
Food... pretty rubbish! I had a fish finger sandwich and it had just two fish fingers... neither of which had much fish in them. It took an age too.
Just go for drinks. Great pub for that.

I've given five stars not because it's a 'fine dining' experience but because it was great at what it does which is serve great pub food at affordable prices in a clean environment with a nice range of beers all served by friendly staff.
Nothing more to be said.

Nipped in for a quick drink on Saturday and ended up staying most of the night. The staff were really friendly and it was a lovely pub. Will definitely be back!

Visited here during a half term visit to Manchester Science Museum. Very convenient location, food okay, usual Pub classics, staff very friendly and accomodating. Located in the very historic Castlefield Basin area....the birth of Manchester since Roman times.

Very quiet compared to the pub just up the road, the football was on but enough seats for everyone. Service with a smile and reasonably priced. We had a very pleasant hour here.

I was visiting on my own to Manchester and didn’t know anyone.. I was recommended to come to the ox by a work colleague and the staff were very welcoming!
The manager John made sure that I was looked after.
I had drinks at the bar and was served by Jamie, Faith and Sion.
They were funny and made me feel at home
Definitely will be coming back!
