Chez Vachon

Visited on a Sunday, late morning. Place was very busy with a 15-20 minute wait. Folks just constantly holding the front door open while they wait in line made it very cold and uncomfortable for the tables near the front. Once seated there was a significant wait for coffee/beverages and then another wait to order. We drove about 90 minutes one way to try this place as they have authentic French Canadian dishes. I had the Pork Pie and scrambled eggs with homefries and a side of Gorton. Wife had crepes and scrambled with homefries. The French Canadian items were very good, the Pork Pie, Crepes and Gorton were all very tasty. The "standard" breakfast items were not. Both orders of scrambled eggs were hard and mine were not even warm , room temperature at best. Homefries seemed to be just par-boiled potatoes that were then put in the oven? a bit with seasoning?? No idea what was going on there but not good. All in it was $45 for two of us. The fact that the FC stuff was pretty good and almost unobtainable anywhere else saved them for a 1 star rating. I would like to think we caught them on an off day, but the distance and price makes a repeat visit unlikely.

Hands down the absolute best crepe I have ever had!! The other breakfast items are great but I truly go there just for the crepes. They are so light and fluffy. You can choose from a lot of different toppings savory or sweet. Only downfall about chez Vachon is the parking is terrible but the food is worth it

Woke up this morning craving something sweet and savory before driving 2 hours north. We found it all right here. Ordered a waffle combo with home fries bacon sausages and eggs as well as 2 orders of crepes filled with fresh strawberries and blueberries. Our boy was in heaven had never trying crepes before. Most amazing breakfast to start the day and long road trip. Micayla was the best server we’ve ever had. She was so patient and understanding of the parents stress of a hangry toddler by quickly reacting with fun conversations to him, bringing crackers, his drink and active things to occupy until the food arrived. We where so thankful and the crepes where giant and stuffed with everything enjoyable. Thank you all for a great morning experience

One thing is for sure, you will not leave this place hungry! The menu is diverse with something for just about every taste....so your biggest problem will be deciding if you want lunch for breakfast or breakfast for lunch! The omelets are huge and the burgers are great... the only reason it lacks the full complement of stars is parking. While there is a small parking lot in the rear, the front relies on street front parking in a mostly residential neighborhood... I imagine getting spaces can be difficult at busy times, but we lucked out on our visit... I certainly recommend for anyone who's hungry....and its only a short distance from catholic medical center.

this is a great local diner with wonderful staff and hot food. portion sizes are big without hurting my wallet. I recommend the eggs benedict. the house potatoes are decent but the hash browns are incredible. this place gets 5 stars because of the service, the flavor of the food, and the location. although conveniently located off exit 5 on 293 in Manchester, parking can be tricky and sometimes there is a long wait. there is always a wait on the weekend.
