Riva Blu Italian Restaurant & Bar, Manchester

Stopped off for a coffee. The restaurant was not open yet. However we greeting the Manager who welcomed us in. He especially said we could have a coffee. We asked him about the restaurant and food and had a very friendly conversation about the Italian food they served. We had the lovely coffee outside. Next time I am in Manchester we will be eating here. A very pleasant experience

Stumbled upon this restaurant when visiting Manchester with my partner, and the overall experience is worth the time for a review. Staff were excellent and polite, food was top-notch and the ambience made us feel warmly welcomed. Peppe took care of our needs to the best of his abilities, and kept us informed about the best areas of holiday of Italy 🇮🇹 We will surely be back again!

Dined in at the latter end of wet Sunday evening so it was quieter than I imagine it would normally be. It was nicely lit and there were plenty of tables suitable for dining solo which I was doing. I chose the spaghetti carbonara and was pleased that I did. I think I've only made it/ordered it with pancetta previously however this was made with pork cheek guanciale. It was so tasty and it literary melted in your mouth. It ranked up there with one of the best carbonara's I've had. The front of house were friendly and helpful and i would happily visit again whenever I'm back home in Manchester

really good quality food, only reason i’m not giving them 5 stars is the cheese board was limited - really nice blue cheese but i felt the block of parmesan could have been replaced with a better cheese to pair with the bread. will be back though. service was average, drinks came just after the food and i had to ask for the ‘optional’ tip to be taken of the bill

The staffs, complimentary and general ambiance is welcoming. Had my mums 60th, with my two nephews (there is a high chair in place for toddlers and accompanying with kids menus). Came here before a concer at the arena. The restaurant is very pretty. The menu is pretty good as well for an Italian, but there wasn't very clear vegetarian and vegan options in my opinion. I ordered the pesto pasta and the waiter was helpful with making sure it was mild because I don't do well with spicy food. The garlic bread was tasty and my friends enjoyed the pizza. I was disappointed that my pesto pasta had blobs of cream cheese of some sort on there as it wasn't stated on my menu from what I understood, and I hate cheese so that was annoying, but it didn't ruin the meal. The service however was weak. Our starter arrived before our drinks did which wasn't good and the staff also kept going to wrong tables when delivering drinks which was pretty embarrassing to watch. We had to waive at the waitress to tell her that is our order. We also ordered some more tap water when the food arrived and the waiter came back and said they had no more bottles so they couldn't give us any, when we then saw 3 more tables get bottles of water. I had a flare up of cystitis so I really needed some liquid and it really was a joke how long it took for us to get some tap water. We ended up telling another waiter we'd been waiting around 15 minutes for some water. I would say to go but definitely be aware that the service of the place isn't great

Booked a table for two as we received 50% off mains offer. We ordered Arancini, Lobster Linguine, Veal Milanese and Truffle Cheesy Fries. Food came swiftly. We enjoyed the starter, the pasta and the side but weren't that keen on the veal main dish that was quite dry. Otherwise, the Arancini and the Lobster Linguine are highly recommended! Friendly service too.
