Caffe Del Mare

Seems to have gone down hill. Serving stale pancakes reheated in the microwave. Bad tasting. Small serves for the price. Time to find a new cafe Even the staff member that picked the pancake up said how hard it was. Look at the rudeness of the owners reply. Complete disrespect. And definatly not cooked fresh was disgusting.

Our usual coffee shop was closed so we stopped at D'lights we ordered an expresso and a long mac, with eggs benedict. The coffee was undrinkable, no crema evident and watery. The breakfast was an even worse disaster, visually unappealing and tasteless. The experience was not even improved by the staff at the till, she was curt and gave the impression we were wasting her time. The worse thing was this horrible breakfast pricey for what it was.

The location of this cafe is pretty good. We arrived at 8am and it was moderately busy. We managed to get an outside table, which wasn't overly clean but serviceable. There wasn't a long wait to place the order, you're able to order anything anytime, meaning there's no set breakfast time. You can order breakfast in the afternoon or steak sandwiches in the morning. Our orders arrived promptly. The big breakfast was great, the calamari were cheap, overcooked and disgusting. The French toast was terrible, and the omelette was good. Probably similar cuisine as Dome. Not flash, but ok.

Nice location... Everything came with chips, I ordered fish and salad which came with a pile of chips and a salad garnish. When I told the staff I hadn't ordered chips she took my meal away, removed the chips and sent it back with a small salad garnish. On asking if I could get more salad she said 'no, that was the portion and if you don't want chips, you don't get them!' not particularly pleasant manner. My husband's sea food basket was very greasy, soggy and the oil tasted old. It wasn't busy. We would not easy here again.
