Fat Tuna Japanese Bistro

After reading about this place in a Facebook group the boyfriend and I decided to come here for dinner today. We were blown away by the presentation of the dishes and the creativity on the menu. The portions were huge, I had to take some rolls home as I couldn't finish! Service was friendly, and ambiance was great as we were one of the only people in the restaurant. Definitely will be going back to try more items off the menu.

We brought company from Ontario to have a late dinner on a Friday night. Food was very good and portions were generous. We had a wide selection from the menu and everyone enjoyed what they had. They allowed us to have all yams on the vegetable tempura :) we noticed some pretty unique art and as it turned out it was done by a family member of one of the chefs. He told us the back story and we all had a good laugh. I would definitely recommend Fat Tuna.

Checked this place out because of a good Groupon deal and we'll be back! Not only was the place clean and inviting, the staff were incredibly helpful and the food.was.AMAZING! Even my kids (7 & 9) we're raving about the presentation and flavour of every dish we ordered. Thanks Fat Tuna! Edited to add: second visit was not as great. Three of us were finished eating before my son's food was brought out. A rush was put on his order once it was discovered he had been forgotten, but there was no apology or rectification. These things happen, especially when a place is busy. I understand. Children, however, should be served first.

My staff and I have sushi lunch together every Friday. Fat Tuna Japanese Bistro recently opened up down the road and we thought we'd give it a try. They did not disappoint! They have online ordering!! Our team loves the online ordering feature, it makes ordering lunch at work so convenient! The portions are enormous and the customer service is excellent. 10/10 I recommend this little gem in Maple Ridge.

We here came on opening night and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The sushi was top of the line and the appetizers/mains were nothing like we've ever seen before. The owner and chef of this place used to run a sushi restaurant in Coquitlam under the same name but moved here to pursue his dream of running a Japanese Izakaya. Him and his staff were all extremely genuine and friendly. I would highly recommend coming here for lunch (they have an amazing fish burger set menu) or for dinner/drinks after work. It opens later than most restaurants in the area and the ambiance + food are just great. Great for large groups. I can't rave enough about this place! We will be coming back often for sure. Bonus, they had vegetarian/vegan options for me so I could eat happily as well :).

Had to try this out as we heard about this on Facebook. Went there on Saturday at 6pm and were the only ones there, although a few couples arrived later in the meal. Surprisingly large restaurant, classy decor, excellent service, and all the food we ordered came quickly. Surprised by the Sashimi/Ngiri combo, as it came with salad and a miso soup (we opted for spicy miso and it was good). We want to come back again to try more things off of the menu.

One of my favourite restaurants in Coquitlam so when I found out the owners moved to Maple Ridge I was so happy!! Food and service is always great and the owners are very friendly !! I always leave full and happy !! Y’all should check this place out if u pass by but don’t drive too fast because you’ll probably miss it lol
