Ant House Steakhouse

A lovely cool feel in this pub, with staff happy to work there too! Art in the Ladies!? A very long Sky window lighting up the ordering station and kitchen. Intimidating Bar! 'Just' ordered slow cooked beef rib pie w mushy ps, gravy, buttered mash and onion rings, (sounds very boring I know) but the chef/s cooked every ingredient perfectly ... num num. A gem!

The Gateway is such a part of this town's history. I absolutely love the style and most of our experience was lovely. The playground was fun for the kids. It was also nice and clean However...the head chef was not very fitting for this place in my opinion. Eating while he was cooking. Not really what I like to see from someone preparing our food. Management was very professional and polite. The wait staff was very professional and engaging.

A quite little Nook in the main main street of Mareeba. A quaint atmosphere. No NEED booking the restaurant. THE reception was very welcoming at the entrance AND the same guy led us to the vacant table. This kind good looking bloke was courteous and hospitable welcoming us to his hotel and restaurant. The food was tasty and quickly AND freshly cooked served by a smiling and accommodating waitress. My daughter and I enjoyed the vibrant and pleasant luncheon. Overall top notch in my list. I'll go back for another meal sometime.

Always a great experience each night we’ve been there. The food hasn’t missed a beat and is definitely worth going for! An all round good vibe place and such lovely friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone passing through or stopping in Mareeba. And a special shout out to Sarah for doing my Easter tickets while I had dinner, your a bloody legend. You go girl! 👊
