Mccleary's Public House

My friend and I went for a lunch this weekend and we're surprised at how beautiful the inside of the pub and the enclosed patio where we ate are. We went for a special lunch and shared 3 of their seasonal drinks that were great throughout our meal. Our waitress was very kind and busy. She still went out of her way to do extra things for us. And while we took our time and enjoyed our meal and courses she keep checking on us. Would recommended again and go back.

McCleary's is a great casual spot for fun drinks and food, especially after a day on the northwest river trail, or the river itself. Welcoming to all, and good solid food. We stopped mid-afternoon on a Sunday and it was not crowded, as everyone was out doing their daily activities in the area. Quaint little town as well. The cocktails were excellent - we had the "Honey Harvest" and the "Blood Orange Margarita". For dinner we had the "Dublin Lawyer" entree and traditional Bangers and Mash. I asked for an extra banger and regretted it as the dish comes normally with two huge ones. Each dish was very good, and would definitely want to try more offerings. Worth a visit for sure if you're in the area. If you like live music, they have a lot of that too. The pictures show that we ate out on their spacious patio, but they have great indoor dining areas, and outside "beach" style area, and a nice bar inside as well. Very neat old building.

Pretzels were absolutely delicious!!!! I ordered the crab cake and hubby had the Reuben. He said the Reuben had a good flavor ( he got to select coleslaw or sauerkraut ( he chose coleslaw)) and the coleslaw had a nice twain to it. Well, they were not stingy on the (tomato based) lobster sauce. It was good but they could go less on the tomato flavor. Tess was our server and she was delightful! Very pleasant and attentive.

This was our first time visiting and we made a reservation just in case. We picked the enclosed patio. We are so happy we did. What a beautiful area. The quietness made it feel really intimate. The service and food was great. My Fiancé had the turkey burger and fries. I had the bangers and mash with a spiced sangria. We will definitely return.
