Big Willie's Hot Stuff

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place because he is from Tennessee and loves hot chicken. There is no Hattie B's in Atlanta yet so seeing this place also serves Nashville hot chicken got him really excited. Unfortunately, this place let us down. He ordered hot chicken and when he cut into it, it was completely raw on inside! I mean on the inside it looked like an uncooked chicken cutlet you just removed from package. We are both passive people so we politely informed our server. Instead of just apologizing he tried to convince us it wasn't raw and it was the lighting or something!! 🤣🤣 I can't make this stuff up. He took it back and brought another one and to our surprise it was also raw!!! Still no apology offered, but my boyfriend asked to just bring him tenders, which the server did, so we took the remainder of food to go, but ultimately just threw it in garbage when we got home to be safe. I don't know if the cook was just having a bad night, if they don't use thermometers or don't care about the risk of food poisoning! I just know serving raw chicken is an imminent health hazard to the public. Additionally, I am pregnant, so if I had ordered that chicken and consumed it, it would have put my unborn child at risk. Overall, I have to give them 1 star because they served my boyfriend raw chicken twice! I had the turkey, but was uncomfortable eating after my boyfriend's raw chicken, so I only took a few bites, it was OK with the cornbread dressing. The Mac n cheese was tasty but my hush puppies were very dry, just about burnt.

Way overpriced for what your getting, red rice is bland, country fried steak can't be cut with the cheep silver wear they give you and gravy was broken (overheated). Much of their plateware and silver wear ends up in the trash can since the hole is made way larger than needed. Catfish was pretty good, tenders are oversized jumbos but NO KIDS MENU. At $50 for two adults and one kid ... you can eat better at many more places for less

I order from here a few times a month because of the convenience. However, when they are off... they are off. There have been multiple times I CALL IN a side order of fries... nothing else, just fries. And 10-15 minutes later, they still aren't ready. Just today, it happened and there wasn't anyone in the restaraunt when I got there to pick up my order but I was told it would be another 5-10 minutes because they hadn't even started it.

Probably had the worst meal at a restaurant ive ever had. Half of the menu was unavailable, my son had a spicy chicken that was spicy yet bland at the same time. The skin was spicy, the hottest available... but it was just the outer skin. The chicken itself was void of any flavor. His potato salad was more mustard, and it had a passing acquaintance with the potato. Husband had a roast turkey that had something grey on top. The mashed potatoes were the instant flake kind. The cranberry relish was the size amount of a quarter. He said the whole thing was bland. Hushpuppies were greasy and over done. My meatloaf sandwich was void of any flavor. Mushy too. There was supposed to be a zesty tomato glaze... it was regular ketchup. Also supposed to be in the sandwich: pimento cheese. It may have been in there... but there was so little of it, I couldnt taste any cheese. The bread was half toasted and limp. My daughter had coconut shrimp. She said it was ok but greasy and her mac and cheese was ok but she said she's had better. She is not very picky and can find something good in anything. She really couldnt with her meal. It was basically meh. From the looks of it, my high school's mac and cheese would have surpassed this. We went on Yelp and left a review. If we could give a zero star... we would have done so. This was just about the food! The service was terrible. And normally I dont mention service! We waited to be acknowledged for 15 minutes, in an empty room. (Should have been our first clue). The whole restaurant was hot with no air flow. No air conditioning. They had display cases that were empty. (Another clue).

It was Sunday afternoon and quite frankly we just did not feel like cooking. We thought this place would be good. Unfortunately, it was not. The brisket was dry and not even cut properly leaving it stringy. Thankfully, the side portions were small because they were either store brought or equally disgusting. I wish I could reduce my posting to a more accurate 1/2 star.

Not sure what everyone else's deal is just because they have cheap silverware and such, but my food was great. Service was great. Sweet tea was great. May have had a few bumps along the road but I will definitely be back and would recommend. These "southern food snobs" should spend some time eating Iraqi cuisine for 6 months or better.....see how you appreciate a place like Big Willie's then. Get over yourselves, people. I'll be back to Big Willie's. Pitts off...!!!

To start, I want to state I am a frequent Big Willies customer both in store and using apps such as Uber Eats. Typically, my food is great and my service is perfectly average. One time I recall our to-go order was short but we we went back to receive the item and received a coupon. Tonight I experienced a severe service flaw I feel impassioned to share. I was told on the phone when I called to inquire about a special that to order it I would have to complete a take out order on the phone and come inside to pick-up. I was really wanting to use Uber Eats for delivery as I have not been well today however a member of my household wanted the special. My gracious husband volunteered to make the extra effort of picking up the order. When he arrived on time for pick-up, he was told they were out of the special. The whole reason we came to the restaurant was for that special. Naturally, I altered the manager of this severe service flaw. He made the special for us within minutes. Funny how I had to reprimand the manager like a child before we received their classically average level of service. Beware. You have to double and triple check when dealing with the restaurant over the phone. I advise sticking to Uber Eats or GrubHub.
