Basil's On Market

Our server, Samantha, was wonderful. The bartender was great. The wines were good. Only one light beer. More of a bourbon & wine place. The veggie burger just okay. The Lobster "bisque" was so spicy I couldn't taste lobster. There was no meat in it. My son's meatball sandwich was huge & delicious. The lobster, shrimp & shell pasta was very good. The chocolate cake dessert would have been better if it hadn't tasted like a refrigerator.

The food options at Basil's are tasty;everyone in your party should be able to find something they will enjoy. The French fries were very good, crispy and tasty. The server was friendly and attentive as well. One thing that was unusual was the arcade as you walk in the door. It did not seem to fit the decor or ambiance of the restaurant.

Very nice place. We ordered all the crab legs you can eat. The crab legs tasted old or in the pot too long. Besides that the French fries and green beans were good. We were right beside door to patio and it got cold from door being opened and closed. The service was good and I would consider coming back.

My wife and I had a wonderful "Date Night" dinner at this newly renovated restaurant / bistro. One of the main attractions was their attention to my wife's gluten allergy as she has had Celiac Disease for over a decade and is extremely sensitive to any and all gluten contamination. The menu was riddled with a variety of GF options which is a rarity for her or at least options that are more than just salads. She was able to have her favorite cut of steak "New York Strip" and lovely vegetable medley that she enjoyed thoroughly. It is a bit pricey but in our opinion well worth it just for the reliability factor of GF. As a side note my "Short Rib" dish was also top notch.

The atmosphere/decor is amazing. Absolutely love it. The food was very good. We started with the risotto tater tots, not quite a tater tot but they were wonderful. My husband and I split the salmon (the bourbon sauce was delicious) and the lobster shells (soooooo good). Service was good as well. Overall had a great experience and will be back.

I am not from the local area. However, I had made a trip down to search for a place to hold a rehearsal dinner for my sons wedding. In the middle of our numerous appointments scheduled at other restaurants, we came across Basil’s. So we decided to have lunch there. Right away we fell in love with this beautiful establishment! I then asked if they held large dinners there. And they did! Eric and Dan showed me the upstairs and discussed the options regarding the menu and drinks. I right away knew that this was what I wanted! During the next 6 weeks, they made me feel as if I had no reason to worry or fret. That day of the dinner, they had done everything that I had requested and more! The food was great. The atmosphere was wonderful. And the service was “out of this world!” Thank you to all the staff involved in this special weekend! I will never forget it! Kristi Layman
