Pickity Place

Pickity Place is more than a restaurant with AMAZING food - it's really an experience. It's a lovely drive (although I admit, I am not great at driving in snow/ice (yeah, yeah, I know, I need to get with it, living in New England and all), so my good friend and I are taking a break until better weather). The gift shop, green house, and grounds are quaint, vintage-y, and just invite you to sit in one of the many alluring garden spaces with a good book before AND after your sure-to-be-savored meal. You might even get lucky to have one of the cats hang out with you while you relax. The dining experience is wonderful - absolutely delicious, creative food, served at a wonderful pace, and in reasonable portions (Goldilocks portions - not too small, not too large, but just right). The beverages are refreshing (I'm crazy about the lavender lemonade), and you just feel as if you're an honored guest. The beautiful gift shop is a delight - so many wonderful, fun, and tasty treats (they offer wonderful spices and spice blends - must-haves for anyone who loves to cook or bake with quality ingredients). This is a beautiful space with just lovely, warm, welcoming staff (shout-out to Amanda, who's fantastic at taking care of diners). In the age of Covid-19, social distancing, masks, and scrupulously clean surfaces stand out and help you relax, knowing that you're in a safe space where you can enjoy your outing. One thing that makes me sad - their gorgeous, old, beautiful tree in the front of the house didn't survive a recent storm, but the creative owners have some fun plans to honor the tree and make the remaining portion really beautiful. So, bottom line? Come here - bring your spouse, your kids, your favorite friends, even your cranky relative who's jaded would be totally charmed by a lovely luncheon here.

Absolutely stunning and charming little herb shop and restaurant! Perfect for lunch dates with mom or a small get together with the girls for a day out. Menu is pre-selected each month and has two options for the main meal (meat or veggie based). At $27 with tax per a person it's a great gift and reasonable price for such an adventure. Let the food speak for itself!

Quaint little place tucked back in the woods. The drive in is very pretty but windy and a dirt road at the end. The grounds are pretty wish I would have went a little earlier in the season to see everything in full bloom. We had the last dinner seating the dinner bell was rung on time but we were seated about 10 minutes late which was fine it was the last seating so I didn’t think that was bad at all. The food was all very good, came out hot and was filling nice portions. I loved that you could try all the different teas and coffee. Lavender lemonade was my favorite. I would definitely say this is more of a girls day but it can be fun for the whole family.

I am in awe of how great my experience at Pickity Place was. At first, I was a little upset because they were about 30-40 minutes behind for our seating, which resulted limited parking and getting even hungrier. But the food and service really made up for it. The January menu was fantastic and the courses came out perfectly timed. I'm still thinking about how tasty the chicken francaise was. A very generous amount of food for the price. I will be back!

Every fall I go with my mom there to spend a day and enjoy the meal in the restaurant. The grounds are nice for a nice walk and there are plenty of chairs everywhere to lounge around and relax. The gift shop has great quality spices, teas and nick-nacks. Absolutely enjoyed every visit. Must call and make reservation if you are planning to eat at the restaurant.
