Ahuva Bagels

Want to know why there's a black screen now around the bagel making area? Let me tell you. I'm waiting on an order one day and watching the kid taking raw bagels off the conveyor belt. He's sitting on a stool, pulling them off, and placing them on a tray to the side. In between bagels, he's touching his phone. He gets tired of sitting and stands. A bunch of bagels come off the conveyor, and he places them on the stool HE WAS JUST SITTING ON. He grabs that batch, places them on the tray to the side, and then puts his FOOT on the tray he had bagels on and plays with his phone again. More bagels come down, and he moves his foot back to the floor so he can put bagels there. At this point, I call over staff and inform them. A lady tells everyone she's withing with something first, then goes back and says something to the kid. Then never says anything to me to reassure me the problem with food safety has been rectified. No "thank you", even. I figured they must have been really embarrassed or horrified like any reasonable human, and decided against writing this review, then. However, today I went back in for a delivery, and they actually installed a black screen so you can no longer watch this kid's butt and feet all over the bagel tray. Yes, that stool he sits on is what he also uses as a foot rest AND prep station. And they are hiding it. I. Just. Can't. And I see another review about food safety... Reminded me of The Office "Nepotism" episode. Had to watch it after this.

First time here. Oh so good. The bagels were so darn good. I got a spinach pesto tomato and Recatta cheese my daughter got the breakfast one . You get to choose from over ten different bagels. The owners were so nice made us feel like family. Also got a cold latte that was so delicious. We will be making this place one of our regular places to eat. You won't be disappointed. 6/9/22 got a BLT on a garlic bagel and a mango smoothie. Wow!! My daughter got egg bacon and Cheese on a cheese bagel and a chai. Really good food and the people are wonderful.

Honestly the food and drinks here aren't bad, although I've tried 3 different sandwiches and only one was really worth getting again. Their soda machine has also been down for the count for at least 7 months now. But their bagels are tasty and I love that you can choose which type of bagel you want for every sandwich on their menu. The apple cinnamon is my personal favorite bagel on its own and I try to get one to go every time I come in. What I don't like about Ahuva though: There is a male staff member (the only one I've seen here to my knowledge) that has been pretty obnoxious and crude whenever I've been here. The first time he must have been on break and was sitting in the public/customer seating area watching an extremely loud video on his phone, full volume and no earbuds or headset and no attempt to be respectful of being in a public setting. I thought he was just a customer until he was called behind the counter. The second time, while behind the counter, he was belching and making other similarly gross noises that I personally don't want to hear coming from the person making my food (or near my food) nor while trying to enjoy my food. It's fine while at home or with friends, and sometimes things slip out, but at least try to maintain a modicum of professionalism especially when you work in the food prep industry. The third time I visited (and also notably the only time I've actually seen him doing anything work related), he was taking orders at the register and this is the only time I've visited Ahuva where I also coincidentally received (and was charged for) the wrong order. Overall I do like the food and may come back occasionally, but it's not a place I feel is worth visiting often, especially if you intend to eat there.

The bagels are awesome, but the service and vibes are terrible. I walked in and waited to place my order for 10 minutes, and the employees didn’t greet me or even say “just one moment.” Personally I didn’t think it looked busy, there were only two other customers in the store and 5 employees in the store. Additionally, when I do manage to get a bagel, it takes a very long time to make. I recommend ordering for pickup or door dash
