Taco Riendo

Strange out-of-the-way location but it definitely has an authentic vibe. "A Mexican restaurant on Chevy way, it has to be great!" I’m not sure I ordered the right things? They had a special, five street tacos for five dollars so I went with that and I also got their french fries and substituted Al Pastore meat with everything on it. They have a little salsa bar so you can self serve. I didn’t think any of the sauces were very good, the hot was not hot at all and there were no fresh options like fresh jalapeños or onions. If I come back I will probably get a burrito of some type. I was hoping the flavors would pop more, I was hoping for some spice, I got neither. The workers were nice. Very blue-collar place to eat, lots of construction workers etc. usually that’s a good sign. My advice is to study the menu and know clearly what you’re going to get before you come. There is limited outside seating available. Half the customers were masked, half not.

Kind of weak, I had higher hopes for my Cinco Da Mayo choice considering other reviews... Street tacos had next to nothing in them, the Pastor was good but the shredded meat options were flavorless and soggy within 5 minutes of being made. Also tried a XL Taco with Chicken and "everything" on it for $2.50, as you can see from the picture there wasn't much of anything in it. Customer service wise, whoever was in charge today he wasn't very engaging. 2 Stars today, might try another menu item sometime but doubtful.

BEWARE. CLEANLINESS. The people preparing our food used their bare hands (for the burrito, cheese, lettuce, etc). There were no gloves worn. The man wiped his hands off on his apron, touched the computer system and register, and didn't wash his hands before touching more food. I do not know what he'd touched that day before touching our food, nor did I see him wash his hands. So I don't know if his hands were clean or not. The staff here is very nice and personable. But I am disgusted and will never eat here again. I do not understand why this restaurant is exempt from standard food hygiene protocol.

This place is legit! Hands down the best Tacos I've ever had in Oregon. The hot sauce is not just hot, its flavorful. The staff were super friendly, and service was quick. Prices are extremally reasonable. It has been busy the handful of times I've been by, but once you taste the food and experience the service, you'll understand why folks keep coming in to this shop. I always visit when I'm in town.
