Dim Sum Cafe

Although the fried rice here was good, the beef chow mein was not what I expected. Attached is what we came home to after ordering takeout. It was full of just bean sprouts (no noodles) and sauce that seemed almost like soup. If you order from here, I'd recommend going for the fried rice and not the noodles.

This is my go-to for golden lava and sesame buns as well as the best vegetarian tofu dishes in the area. I hate it when I order fried tofu and it arrives with a tough, chewy exterior and dried-out center. I always order the crispy fried tofu here, which has an awesome crunchy texture on the outside and juicy tofu on the inside, and pair it with a saucy dish for dipping, like the vegetarian ma po tofu. So good! Last night, I tried the doughnuts in pink sugar for the first time, and they tasted as good as they looked! They're also a sure bet for crunchy sesame pancakes, better than most of the others I've tried in Malden. Not good any more! This place has slowly gone down hill over the years. Price, quality, and constistancey. What really anger's me is the rude, arrogant, and inconsiderate treatment by the staff. Your told to give your order quickly because they are busy. If you pause they hang up on you. When they mess up your order they blame it on you. If the delivery takes too long and you ask for a refund, they hang up on you. Sometimes they wait until your half way through giving your order and say "call back later we busy" and hang up on you! It seems like their only way to deal with problems is to hang up the customer! How do they stay in business?

This place has changed hands a few times. These last owners don't have a clue how to run a business that is customer friendly. I've ordered many times but one Saturday around 5:30 pm I call and the man says hold on, I hear him talking for about 5 minutes. He gets back on, I tell him my order and when I get to the last item of about 9 he hangs up on me. I call back thinking we got disconnected and I said I was disconnected, he hangs up again! Every time I've ordered it's been a substantial order, so if they don't want my business fine with me. Apparently this is a regular occurrence with them, check reviews at yelp under the reviews not shown. I won't ever order there again. If they treat you with disrespect why go back for more humiliation? Go somewhere where you will be treated with dignity and kindness not where you are subjected to abusive behavior.

Some of these reviews seem to have some pretty high expectations for a small cheap dim sum takeaway. So many 1 star reviews for poor customer service? What did you expect, this isn't fine dining. I would think people would care more about the food than whether some guy was nice to them on the phone. The food is decent, inexpensive, and good portions. You get what you pay for.

Ordered and waited 2 hours. Food was at best, average. We called after an hour, they said they were busy and hung up. Called back, they told us it was already sent out. An hour later, the food was delivered. We did not eat it, it was soggy and cold. Called to have it removed and they said they would refund after they came and picked it up. They never picked it up. When I called to ask if they would refund, they said no and hung up the phone. It was expensive, average food with the worst customer service. I would advise against ordering from them.

I have come here VERY many times. I love their food. They are usually great. Today is New Years Eve, so I will give them a tiny bit of respect based on my previous experience with them. However, I ordered my food at 1:30 PM to be ready by 6:30. I get a confirmation from them at 2:30 saying they recieved my order. Did not call saying anything, so I assumed all was good. I get a message saying the delivery was on the way at about 5:50. From there I waited, patiently, until about 6:45 when I called to make sure everything was okay. When I called them, they were obviously busy, and the girl who answered me asked me to hold on a second. Then someone else picked up the phone, said hello, and hung up. I called back, got hung up on a second time. Then called back again and I was told "We can not get to your order tonight it's way too busy"..... At least they could have said "Can you please come pick it up?" And I would have, but no. I am VERY disappointed that one of my favorite restaurants behaved this way. I spend almost $100 here monthly. I really hope you guys find a way to make it up to your LOYAL customers about the TERRIBLE service that you have given today.
