A Cupcake A Day

Stopped in here while walking around downtown Medina. Cute little shop with a lot of different flavors. My cupcake was a little on the dry side, but the frosting was delicious. The other 2 cupcakes we got were really good. The lady who was working interacted very well with my 4 year old and made her day by letting her pay and giving her the change.

A Cupcake A Day was an easy choice since we have been enjoying their cupcakes for many years. We have always loved that they are a small business owned by a couple who has a big heart for their community. Their mini cupcakes were a huge hit at our wedding, especially the chocolate peanut butter! In addition to the many cupcake flavors they crafted, they also baked us a simplistic 8 inch couples cake for cutting and sharing. The cake and cupcakes were a perfect sweet treat for our non-traditional laid-back wedding.

I hate leaving a bad review but I will leave an honest review. So I purchased 6 cupcakes. I ate them the next day as I was traveling home. I even asked before I left if they would be good the next day. The lady said that customers who have purchased from the day old selection always said they were good. We they were stale. The icing was decent. But nothing to write home about. Would I give them another try if in the area, yes but I would eat my cupcake directly after purchase. I had also purchased cupcakes in Cleveland and didn't get to them til they were 3 days old and they were as fresh and moist as the day I had purchased them. Not sure what to say but maybe adding a simple syrup could help keep the moisture inside. The shop was cute. Kinda thought it was over the top when I walked in and had to put a mask on when no other customers were inside and the lady was behind a plexiglass wall, plus I walked in without a mask so if I had covid the air was already contaminated, just saying. Kinda silly and none of the other stores around require masks. I haven't had to wear a mask in months and if they worked wouldn't we be done with covid, again just saying. So over all just kinda disappointed.
