Vespa Rossa

These guys are usually on EatClub with a 50%off discount, but then I ordered take away for lunch and realised why. I tried the seafood marinara and somehow they managed to make it rather tasteless. I took a couple of bites and decided to stop - took it back home for dinner instead, tossed it in the wok, added some salt, pepper, chilli flakes and voila, a decent pasta. There was nothing wrong with the seafood though, was fresh. Someone else mentioned their chorizo penne was also tasteless, only the chorizo had flavour - not sure how that's even possible, unless the ingredients were cooked separately perhaps. No credit card surcharge.

Went with a friend for the first time today,and last. The meals were flavorless, horrible texture for a parmigiana and inedible. The service was chaotic, meals served not together and the cleanliness was very poor, clearly not a priority. After several months of lockdown, we were keen to get to a restaurant and support the local businesses. If this is now the standard that this restaurant finds acceptable, it looks like another restaurant in Melbourne will fold and close down. The worst meal I have had in Melbourne in the last several years.Memorable for all the wrong reasons.
