Food was really good. Service was slow, which was no issue for me, but definitely need some help out front

Tread lightly at the Ants Bistro.
Incredibly slow service between courses, chilli oil with no chilli, fried rice as bland as a pack of Salada's and to top it off the dumplings, which arrived 30 minutes late, are freezer bag quality. They just can't be homemade I'm sure of it.
Only saving grace is the bistro is BYO.
Do not recommend on any night let alone a Friday when you're starving after work.

we came in and stood in the door way to be seated for 10 minutes (minimum) and was then seated at a filthy table. we were not given cutlery, napkins and we had to ask for water after being seated for 30 minutes (minimum). we had made our order after being seated and patiently waited for a while, until! we had noticed that tables seated long after us were receiving their food and drinks before us. we had ask two different staff members numerous times how our order was going, we were given no update. we were only then given an update on our food after 1 hour of waiting, we stood up and left. the whole time we felt as though we were denied of service. to give the benefit of the doubt there were only two waitresses and they looked under the pump.

Look, the food was decent but the service was shocking. This place has an online ordering system via a QR code on the table, so there's no excuse to get it wrong. Our table of 5 ordered pan-fried dumplings, two mains, fried rice and noodles. One of the mains came out first, so we picked at it, hoping the rice would arrive soon. Ten minutes later (maybe more?) the second main arrived. I asked whether our rice and noodles were coming soon, and what happened to our dumplings? Dumplings come first, I was told! I think another table got ours... Rice & noodles finally arrived, along with steamed dumplings. By then everything was cold. Also, trying to eat fried rice off a plate instead of out of a bowl with chopsticks is awkward! We won't be back.

!!! DON’T BOTHER GOING HERE !!!
I didn’t even want to give this 1 star. We arrive and are seated at a messy table, then an HOUR after ordering we still haven’t received our food. We didn’t even get water or cutlery until we asked half an hour later. Yet other people got their food within 15 minutes of being seated. We asked 3 times where our food was and the waitress said she’d check (but never got back to us until the end)… We walked out very disappointed.

we ordered and it took over 2 hours to get half our meal, it took so long to get the other half that we ended up leaving before getting the rest of our meal and we realised later that they had not started cooking it yet. food was slightly below average and noodles were undercooked.

We ended up leaving after one hour of waiting for our meals, the entrees were first in ok time but then 20 mins later first dish arrived, then a while later the fried rice was served and was missing bbq pork and shrimp just had rice peas and carrots. We sent it back as it was not what the menu described. Our other 3 dishes never arrived. When we approached staff they said we had been served all dishes, then they checked with the kitchen and they thought they had finished our order. We were even told they couldn’t serve prawn toast as they had none but they still charged us for it. We were very hungry and dissapointed. The fact that no Asian people were dining in there was a big sign that it’s not up to their standards either. We paid for entree and one dish between the 5 of us and left very annoyed. Poorly run business, stay clear!!

I feel sorry for the young waitress ... she was the only one serving for a restaurant that was near full capacity ... about 30 people.
We've ordered our food in the restaurant online, on a separate order; first entree then mains.
No service, had to grab our own wine glasses from downstairs, no water, can't event order Chinese tea.
Then, the Fried Rice came first, no entree, which was Spring Rolls and Scallops.
The Spring Rolls finally arrived.
Later, the Pork Ribs arrived, incorrect Pork Ribs, as we've ordered Salt & Pepper Pork Ribs.
Still, no scallops ....steamed scallops mind you.
In the end, we left, paid for the Spring Rolls, as other customers were waiting for their food as well.
We went to another restaurant down the road ... plenty of options in Chinatown.
