Drumplings

Great presentation and friendly staff. But the dumplings came out luke-warm rather than piping hot as they should, and the dough's texture seemed reheated rather than fresh. Although the dumplings were tasty enough, some of us felt a bit rough around the edges later on in the day and the next morning. Not worth $50pp for the privilege.

This place definitely doesn't serve your usual Chinese dumplings. We tried the cheeseburger dumplings, satay fried dumpling and also to play it safe, a traditional prawn and chive dumpling. It was really nice sitting at the courtyard and service was great too. However, the food fell short. The skin was way too sticky and thick. To be honest, I would really rather head opposite to THW for cheap and good dumplings.

Delicious and different! Dumpling flavours are unique, our faves were the black truffle and pepperoni pizza. Great for sharing (or not) and combined with a tasty fresh cocktail plus the funky atmosphere made for a great dining experience. The lemon meringue are worth a try, even if you don't like the idea of sweet dumplings it's worth it. Will definitely visit again when next in Melbourne!

We tried the new dumplings from their Spring/Summer 2020 menu and some others: ⁣🍖 Xiao Long Bao Love the broth that was inside. It was so tasty and perfect for cold weather! 🍢 Chicken Satay Potsticker Dumplings [NEW]⁣⁣ The dumpling itself was slightly plain but went amazingly well with the slightly sweet peanut sauce! 🥧 Aussie Beef Pie Dumplings Love the generous amount of fillings in this one! If you love Australian Beef Pie, you’re 100% gonna love this! The little bit of tomato sauce on the top really completes the dish. 🍗 Crispy Chicken Bao⠀ This is definitely one of my favourites! You get a huge crumbed chicken fillet with mixed leaf salad inside a soft pillow-like bao. I could have many of these and not get tired of it! ⠀ As well as some amazing Gin Cocktails that went so well with everything 🍸: ⁣🥭 Mango passion I love mango, so I had to get this! It’s sweet and refreshing, with a slight taste of gin. I could honestly go for a few glasses. ⁣🌹Pink Rose⠀ This sweetness of the cocktail was slightly milder, so the taste of the gin will be more apparent, but is also really refreshing. On top of that, the bartender came over to set the dried rosemary on the cocktail on fire! Literally, it was lit! Overall it was such an amazing experience. I love the staff members! They all had smiles on their faces and they were so friendly. One of them moved us from our indoor sitting outdoors because she knew we were going to take pictures. We even had a short conversation! It made me feel very comfortable dining there. Thanks Steph and the team at Drumplings! I look forward to dining with you guys again! 💕

As you walk in you'll find small round tables set up for two on the left. In the middle of the restaurant are long wooden benches and tables that stretch the length of the premises that would be good for larger groups or shared between patrons. On the right of the restaurant is the bar and kitchen. At the rear is an outdoor area with brightly painted walls and outdoor heaters. Would be great place to have drinks and dumplings in summer. As well as traditional type dumplings, Drumplings serves innovative dumpling such as the Aussie meat pie dumpling amongst others. It's worth a visit if you want to try something different in a funky venue. We had good service and the waitress was friendly although we did go mid- afternoon when it was not busy. I'll intend to return to try some of the dishes I missed out on this visit.

A great place with different flavours. The cheeseburger dumplings are as described and rather strange but definitely enjoyable. The truffle dumplings are delicious. Service is friendly and they have blankets for sitting outside. Cocktail options are also unusual. It's not cheap but worth it for the experience. I want to go back to try more weird flavours.

Great service, very tasty dumplings, and a nice atmosphere inside. The food also came in about 15 min so waiting time wasn’t an issue either. We had the cheeseburger, beef, pork and chives, and moneybag flavours and all of them tasted great and were nice and hot. The staff were very nice and quick to respond too. It came out to about $27 a person.
