Swiss Club Restaurant

The food at the Swiss Club is generally good but I have to say that today it was a disappointment. I ordered pan fried flathead fillets with lemon butter and chips. The fish was great but the chips were lousy. First it was a ridiculously small serve and given that potatoes are so cheap, it's hard to understand why they were so stingy. Second they were over cooked. I complained and got an additional bowl of chips but, as you can see in the photos, even the second serving was a mingy serve. I wasn't full at all so I had to attack the salad bar. The side salad became a major one. On a plus the ambiance of the Swiss club is always good and the serving staff was very friendly and provided good service.

Authentic Swiss dining experience. You wouldn't pick you were in the middle of Melbourne CBD. Comparable to dining in a chalet in Gruyere. Excellent customer service, tasty food and good portion sizes. If you want Swiss (or just general comfort) food this is an excellent option in the CBD especially for families. If you're looking for a trendy, innovative, chic or romantic dinner, obviously there are better options all around Flinders Lane. Goes without saying, we had the cheese fondue. Nice experience but always way too much cheese most can handle. Weiner schnitzel with spatzli very satisfying and the Riz Casimir was a pleasant surprise of fruity flair!

We happened to be at the Swiss Club Restaurant the same night as their once a month live musicians were there. Truly marvelous band of about 6-8 players playing traditional tunes. Food was good traditional fare which reminded me of home cooking. Service was excellent. Homely decor. I would definitely go again. First Thursday of the month for food and music in this upstairs old school retreat from the usual try hard modern youth focused venues in the city. Worth a try.

Went there with my Girlfriend and a couple of friends. The staff have been really rude for booking over the phone as well as in the restaurant, we are cheese fondue lovers and we can tell without a doubt that the one we got wasn’t made 100% out of cheese, it did really taste like if it has been mixed 50/50 with bechamel. We explained our disappointment to the waitress who sent it back and told us that she would ask the chef to come over to see us. The chef never came and they did bring 15 minute later the exact same one that who has been sent back. Fortunately the desert was good but in average our experience at this restaurant stay a big disappointment, we definitely won’t go back.
