We were staying at The Grand Hotel across the road and found this a convenient location for a meal. The service was very professional and prompt. The decor is modern and comfortable. The three of us only ordered main meals and they were all tasty and filling. No one could manage desert. We bought good wine by the glass. Not a cheap night but it was value for the quality of the experience. We would go back again.

While staying at the Holiday Inn we enjoyed the conveniece of the adjoining Sirocco restaurant and bar for breakfast. The buffet breakfast was a must to start our day. The standard was very good. Travellers should take up the option of an omelette prepared just the way you want. It was to die for. Nothing was too much trouble. When we come back to Melbourne the Sirocco will be on our must do list once again. Many thanks Dianne and Garry

I was a little more prepared for my order than the waiter, yet they still got it down and correct.
Steak was very slightly overdone. I asked for Medium as it was dry aged Beef.
Rest of meal, sides and drink service was good.
Prices are actually lowish but I guess they are bolstered by the hotel above.

Really lovely and comfortable environment to dine in, had a wonderful Christmas lunch! Sandra was an amazing host she was extremely kind and helpful she made our experience a wonder. Chairs are very very comfortable and the desserts were to die for! Only problem I can find with food is a slight lack of vegetarian options but overall had a delightful time and would definitely recommend :)

WORST buffet breakfast I have ever had!
I am not one to complain but for the price I would have expected a lot better!
Wanted to make a cup of tea and there was no hot water left and had to wait for staff to refill machine and boil again, then the skim milk was also empty, I had ordered poached eggs which came very undercooked (I don't mind a runny yolk but the whole white was still completely raw), everything in the hot section had gone cold, since the eggs were a fail thought I would try pancakes and the machine had ran out of mixture, once again told the staff and waited at least 10 minutes and the chef still had not come out to refill so after being EXTREMELY disappointed we decided to just leave!
For a buffet breakfast I would have expected the food/drinks refill/top ups to be kept on top of!
Definitely not worth the price! :(

Having stayed in Melbourne for a few days and just staying a short distance away we popped in for a early dinner. Having checked out there menu online we were not disappointed. We wanted to have light meals , drinks, rest, read and people watching. The bar menu is good I shared jalapeno poppers with my wife. When the dinner menu kicked in at 6pm we shared a couple dishes inc herb and parmesan encrusted lamb cutlets.
That was a entree size by 2 cutlets with all the trimmings .
Very nice and good service.
Will possibly check out there accommodation next time .
Great location.

Mostly excellent food - soup, bread, steak, mash. The cheese was a little dry and it would have been nice if the dips that came with the bread entrée had been clearly stated on the menu since, as it turned out, none of those that were brought were to my liking, so though I eat the lovely bread, with some extra butter, which was kindly brought in response to my request, the dips were all wasted. Waiters very good, but waitresses need to improve their skills, and their command of the English language. The waitress who first served me nearly caused me to walk out. I had read the sign at the front that wrote about "Chef's Set Menu"; by the time I had been seated [a process which in itself initially went wrong, because I went the wrong side of the bar to find the seating queue point (a sign, on the wall of the bar, pointing to the correct side would be welcome)], I had forgotten that the word was "Set" and I asked about the "Chef's Specials" rather than the "Chef's Set Menu". The response of the waitress was to respond with a very negative wording by saying that they didn't have such a thing as "Chef's Specials": a staff member with some more wits about her, plus lateral thinking ability, would have responded more appropriately with some more positively expressed words, which might have been something like "Oh, I think you must be referring to our Chef's Set Menu - yes it is there in the insert in the middle of your menu, Sir", rather than immediately putting my back up by saying that they didn't do such a thing, when I had just read about it on the sign outside the front door - such incompetence really gets my back up very fast. I also agree, with other reviewers about the prices, but it is a hotel restaurant in central Melbourne, so that is to be expected. 3½ stars.

The service was awful. They somehow managed to screw up sausage at breakfast. Furthermore the Chicken in the Chicken Curry I ordered was pink on the inside. Avoid this place. Worst hotel restaurant I have ever ate at.
