Garcon Paris Steakhouse

I came in for lunch at 12:45 on Thursday afternoon, with only myself and two other tables present in the restaurant. No worries, it means the food comes quickly right? Wrong. I ordered the wagyu rump, a side of broccolini and a coffee. No entree, no desert, no complicated drinks. I ordered the steak medium rare, nothing crazy. After waiting what felt like an eternity, being around 35 minutes (for steak!), I received the meal. And to say I was disappointed was an understatement, the steak was blue; rare at best... The bearnaise was lumpy, which I’ve never experienced with a bearnaise before. The chips were cold and the side of broccolini was cold. The coffee was inconsistent too, and given that it’s in a prime location I’d expect that at least their coffee would be up to standard. One latte was more like a flat white and the other had about 1/2 froth and the rest cold milk. I don’t complain, I’ve worked in hospitality and I know exactly what it’s like. But in saying this, when I’ve had the prior experience at entrecôte and it’s a place that is offering a similar menu I at least expect the same standard. The waiters were apologetic and refunded one of my coffees due to the steak being well and truly undercooked, thank god for the attentive staff who at least realised that the food was taking way too long and it wasn’t up to par.. Doubt I’ll be back, so many other great options in the area, great for a place to sit down quietly, but don’t expect the food to be the best around

Impressive wine list for starters. We really enjoyed the ambience of the place, very simple but tasteful decor without unnecessary excess. Food was incredible, I really recommend the steak tartare, escargots and confit duck leg. Profiterolls were just divine. Service at par with the food quality. Have already booked a table to come back!! :)

M friend and i had the worst ever service at this restaurant on Friday evening. The waiters were all over us when we arrived as soon as we finished our main course and the one glass of wine each. They disappeared . We waited half an hour just to top up our water and even then we had to get their attention. Albeit the food was good but the service was appalling . Not even an apology. Will not be going there again or recommending it to anyone.
