Nice dinner place that does tapas entree meals to share. Good selection of alcoholic beverages also.

I wasn't paying so i can't comment on price but the food was s bit on the greasy side. Lots of fried dishes. Sweet potato chips were very nice. Chili mayo was nice. Beef cheeks tender and gelatinous, but too fatty for my liking. Fried eggplant lacked flavor. Chicken wings were ok. The rice balls things were dry abd nasty. At least the shiraz was good.

Small little place with limited seats. Not a big menu. Tried all three mains-nothing wrong. Good flavours. Friendly staff. Had to wait for the main though restaurant is not overly crowded

Have been to Mauritius a few times and only had great memories of the food, sadly I was really disappointed at the food at Bistro Du People which did not live up to expectation. The food was bland and basic and made with cheap, basic ingredients - not the fresh spicy twist that mauritian food boasts.
Having cooked some of these dishes myself, I know none of this food was cooked fresh, instead it tasted like it's all been precooked and frozen, defrosted and then served up... disappointing!

Great food from Mauritius.
You can call yourself lucky if you find it by accident.
And if someone have told you about it and you haven’t come... what are you waiting for.
We have the 5-entree package and 2 mains.
And if you like spicy you can ask for the Mauritian chili

Friendly staff small but cosy eating area. Disappointed that the fried noodles didnt taste like traditional Mauritian fried noodles. Less than average taste/flavour.

So bland. My partner is Mauritian so I've tried good home cooked Mauritian food before. This place didn't have any of the spice or depth of flavour you'd want from Mauritian food. Not only does it not taste authentically Mauritian but it barely tastes of anything at all. It cost $80 for one drink, two starters and two mains and I could have gotten better takeaway for $30. The gateaux piment (chilli and split pea fried balls) were nice, but over priced, the meatballs tastes like a frozen microwavable Italian mean with none of the spice of a proper rougaille, the curry was watery and the pork belly was way over cooked. Such a disappointment. Plus the smoke from smokers outside stank the place out. The best part was the Mauritian Pheonix beer.
