Hibachi Japanese Grill

Nice sushi place to have a relatively okay priced sit down meal. There was one sushi/sashimi chef who did well to keep up with all the orders coming his way, he seemed frantic at times, poor guy... if it was at capacity they would probably struggle. The pandan sauce on the salmon nigiri was a nice twist.

UPDATED IN NOVEMBER 2018 The restaurant has new staff (not sure if new owners as well ) and the service is MUCH better.. Now back on my favourite Japanese list. Very good quality dishes and comprehensive wine list... well done guys!!! The presentation and freshness is fantastic! Previous review: Generally easy to get a table (for two) here on Friday nights, Menu is good and the food is consistently OK. The wait service is a bit hit and miss however..

Had a wonderful dining experience here. I was absolutely blown away from the flavours of the deluxe banquet. The quality was amazing, food was always fresh and delicious. Charlie, Nick and the rest of the wait staff were lovely and professional. Adored our experience here! Would love to repeat the whole thing over again.

Look, it wasn't terrible, but it was pretty hit and miss. A couple of dishes were lovely, but others not really great. I couldn't rate it as OK, because I'd honestly not recommend any of my personal friends to go there. If you're not too picky, you might be satisfied, but there are better places in Melbourne, no doubt.

Strongly not recommend this Japanese restaurant, ordered a stir fried chicken udon, got a whole bunch of oil underneath, also the udon is not cooked properly, hard like rock! Even we complained to the staff, they reacted like we are idiot. Staff told me it’s normal . Won’t come back again. Very disappointed! They deserve 1star.

I've been to this place a few times now. The food is always amazing. The fish is fresh and tasty. Service is always friendly and polite and has good advice for things on the menu. The saki list is very extensive and they give advice on how to have each one. Everything that you could want from a restaurant. I'll be regularly dining here.
