Sash Japanese

Wonderful place! The food and ambience were wonderful. It's a long restaurant. The front half was fairly big but mainly tabled smaller groups. The bigger groups were towards the back. The chicken sliders and the chicken nuggets were the highlight of the meal. The cocktail was magnificent. Really enjoyed it. Would recommend this place for a large group as it can be a bit expensive, but sharing the food is cost effective.

Came here with a group of friends. The back area is great for groups and has good atmosphere. Service was good and so was the food, I really like the chicken nuggets, full of flavour! Everything was tasty. The serving size was small, everything seems to be mini size except for the price. $25 for a pizza the size of your hand. Perhaps it’s standard due to location.

I was lucky enough to try Sash with a few blogger buddies on a Tuesday night – which coincidentally is their 2-4-1 taco and slider night. Sash is a combination of Japanese inspired, and Japanese dishes. We started off with cocktails, the cocktail menu is extensive - I had the Japanese margarita, which was refreshing. Other drinks looked really good. There’s enough variety in the menu that you can find something to suit your taste buds, whether you want to go adventurous or play it safe, there is something for you. Whether you want a Japanese pizza, or sashimi, the variety is wide. I particularly enjoyed the spicy tuna tacos, tuna sashimi nachos, the pork sliders and the soba noodles. Dessert wise, I’ll come back again for the blood orange sorbet macaron sandwich. The quality of the food was top notch, and the venue is very hip and modern. Our server was particularly friendly, and would be enough of a reason to return if she was to serve us again. Everyone is so pretty here, including the diners. I'll be back on Tuesdays for sure!

Unique concept has potential but currently a little lacking in execution. The venue is a little crowded but great vibe. Staff seem busy and experienced but not overly friendly, our waiter was lovely but possibly a little overwhelmed as we were a large group. Spicy tuna tacos and apple crumble pizza wth vanilla ice cream were absolutely a highlight, fresh and balanced. Rice base was sweet and chewy when I wanted it to be crunchy and savoury but there is still potential there. Blood orange highlights across dishes could have been more tangy to offset the sweetness and richness of other elements of the dishes and slider bun was dry and doughy. I wonder if a black bao bun might work better to draw attention back to the contents, which was tasty. Such a cool idea and seems like they are just still trying to find their rhythm. We'll be back.

This place is a game changer! Really inventive menu, the flavour combos are something else! We thought afew things would be abit weird but the team brings it together really well!! Cocktails are very impressive, you won't see anywhere else, very original and presentation is 5/5. Really fun vibe, great place for a group of friends to celebrate something special!!

Sash Japanese is a great spot for Fusion food and we returned here again tonight to check out their winter menu which is a few weeks old now and so much has changed. We started with Eggplant crispy tacos which were flavoursome little items. The Salmon kosho tostada was on a similar styled crispy chip but open with a mildly spice element. The Lotus lamb slider came with kale which isn’t normally my thing but it worked tonight. Last of the savoury dishes was a delightful mango tango sushi which was probably the most spicy out of the dishes served tonight and my favourite of the savoury we tried We engaged our dessert stomach and sampled the Golden gothic pudding which was all fairy floss and pretty in appearance but held a deep rich dense desert underneath with burnt toffee tones. Overall a really enjoyable range of new menu items and enough untried that we could come back and order a completely different meal.
