This local coffee shop opened in my neighborhood, I watched it developed from 1 person (boss himself) to three more staff. The baristas and the girl have always been friendly and nice. Though I didn’t have a good experience with the boss, he made me feel I’m not welcomed because I tried to buy their coffee beans. As I really liked the coffee which made me want to buy the beans, after confirmed by their barista that they also sell 250g of beans the day before and asked me to come back for the fresh roasted beans. That’s why I went there today again to buy the beans and the boss said No in a not so nice way. I don’t want to make a big deal about it, there are so many other cafes sell the coffee beans. It’s just this is my local store, I thought I just support their business and also they don’t open on the weekends, so I can make coffee at home for me and my neighbors by using their beans on the weekends. Everything else was good, just I don’t like the way I was treated by the boss. Also, my morning time was wasted. Hence, a three star; otherwise 5 stars.

Amazing service! Baristas are friendly yet professional. New favourite spot for a decently priced oat latte. Found it hard to find a good coffee in Southbank that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg or take 30 minutes. Thank you to the barista who speedily made my coffee today as I was running late for a tram. Absolute ledgedog. Thank you😊

(Edit) when back to the cafe to get lunch this afternoon. The owner of the cafe came out to have a chat with me to discuss what happened yesterday. “You don’t work in hospitality do you?” Was his first question, followed by “you should learn more about the world and work environments” Apparently if you point out a hygiene issue, you deserve to be harassed. He then proceeded to ask what I was studying. I told him what I’m studying and he goes “ good luck with that Hahahahah” Seems like the hygiene issue is a recurring issue to this venue seeing some other reviews regarding masks. And their way to deal with feed back is by offending the issuer so they don’t come back. Ordered a cold brew (which takes a second to pour into a cup), waited a long time and barista was picking up ice with his bear hand. When I pointed out hygiene issue, he got cranky and didn’t even hand the coffee to me and just dropped it on a table (it wasn’t busy, there was only one person waiting). What a shocking attitude.
