It was such an interesting place, good food, good vibe and friendly services. Oh where do we begin, all I can say is if you have not tried it yet when you are in Prahan; you must. Foods were delicious and fresh, it is more towards modern Japanese style cuisine. It’s really is and interesting place to dine, must try their crispy dango. This restaurant is massive, you could book In for many people and different occasions and functions. I would be definitely be coming back here again.

A popular modern Japanese restaurant among Melburnians and tourists alike, conveniently located at 9 Clifton St, Prahran. We had an absolutely amazing experience in this beautiful, spacious venue. I am a sucker for tempura and had it all to myself - no sharing 😂

Save this for an incredibly authentic and delicious Japanese feast @grandlafayette where every item on the menu will satiate will taste buds and appetite for a meal here. The vibes are so grand and charming here, with a cozy ambiance and bright and spacious decor. The menu is very elaborate and they offer so many varieties of Japanese dishes. What we had here: Oyster Tempura, so perfectly crisp and juicy oyster inside, must try. Very yum. Baked Scallops, the most divine and tastiest baked scallops I’ve ever tried, very addictive and amazing entrée, strongly recommended. Takoyaki, soft, mushy octopus balls, so perfectly cooked, loved it a lot. Japanese Pankeki, the taste is very refreshing and crunchy rice pancakes went perfectly well with fish sashimi, tobiko, scallions and soy-yolk. A very unique yet a delectable Japanese dish. Chicken Katsu curry, such a satisfying Katsu curry, perfect for winter afternoon lunch, strongly recommended. Prawn fried rice, very flavourful and served with fish caviar and juicy prawns, must try. We also had a lychee and strawberry crush, both were very fresh and yummy to drink. We are definitely going back here soon to try all their awesome, Japanese food and drinks. The prices are bit steep, but then again you will only get great quality of food, quantity wise, it’s okay. The service is friendly and the team of staff here are all very helpful and welcoming in nature. So why not visit this week @grandlafayette to have a warm, comforting and mind blowing yummy Japanese feast with your friends/family.

Went there on Friday(29th of July 2022) night for diner. Food quality was good and fresh. Ordering was e and service was friendly. Price is not match with the whole experience though. If you pay that much you expect better and fancier environment. Also portions wasn’t enough. We ended up paying 387$ just for 4 people having main and desert.( we had a bottle of white as well which was 36$) In addition to the pricy menu you have to order and pay via application which you will have to pay card fee and GST on top that. Parking also is problem. There is not enough parking in street ( there is a public parking which is very small and another public paroling which you have to pay) Whole experience was ok and food was good but considering the price and environment and won’t go back.

Last week we had the absolute pleasure to go back to Grand Lafayette to try their new a la carte menu. We used to love their all you can eat buffet but these dishes are actually much better than the ones we had before! They got lots of options including raw dishes, sushi, baos, small bites, tempura, don, rice, noodles, soup and Japanese curry 🍛 We tried a bit of everything and also ordered one of their famous raindrop cakes, which was really pretty and cool to eat 💙 If you are looking for a good Japanese feed in Prahran this is definitely the place to go 😉 Featuring: 1️⃣ Prawn and ora king salmon roll 2️⃣ Tempura eggplant bao 3️⃣ Karaage bao 4️⃣ Okonomiyaki stick 5️⃣ Ika tempura 6️⃣ Chicken katsu curry 7️⃣ Glazed Samon Aburi Don 8️⃣ California hako 9️⃣ Tiffany blue
