Rich Maha Little Collins

Haven’t been to rich mahal in years but remember they used to have great roti. Thought I’d give them another tried and have been disappointed because of lack of food on the night. Apparently the chef wasn’t at work and they only had the Bain Marie food and even then had run out of fish curry. Ordered roti and curry to take away. Roti tasted like and had the texture of frozen roti and was barely cooked through. Pretty disappointing.

Our go to place for South Indian and Malaysian roti and curries around the South Eastern suburbs. The fried chicken is 👍 Fluffy egg roti and good variety of curries. If you are dreaming of amazing curry to bring home… try pre-ordering their fish head curry which is packed in a LARGE white pail!!!! Weekends they serve pasembur and Tuesdays are “hoppers”night. Different curries are served on different days. Basic restaurant set up and basic service. If food is your focus, you’ll be happy. Weekends or peak hours can get pretty busy and may have to wait. Go in early so you’ll get a table easily.

It used to be a great restaurant with good food and cleanliness. Now food taste not like before. For example, chicken 65 used to be of a superb quality and now it tastes rubbish. It seems their old chef left the place and the new one does not know how to cook restaurant style food. The manager needs to review the recent reviews and bring changes. bring your old chef back will do the magic.

I ate here for 5 years and I always love the place! The quality and quantity has always been superb. Now it’s a barely a shadow of its former self. They don’t give any food and it’s taste absolutely atrocious. We went from eating inside with proper utensils and plates to now sitting outside with plastic forks and plates. I had some many times where my papadum got blown away when the slightest wind came. There is no toilet now and we have wash out hand in a corner. All out food used to be separated into neat little sections and now it’s all dump on to one of the other. It’s really sad to see my favorite restaurant go after all these years.

I think it changed hands because the food is average and the rotisserie on the day I ordered were not freshly made. They were cold when I returned to have them make fresh ones they just reheated them the other time they ran out of fish curry come on ??? Why do new owners try to cut quality hoping to make more money? It doesn’t make sense. Anyhow I will not be buying from there again.

OK well we ordered the Naan and it was so rubbery and looked like super frozen. It wasnt fluffy at all and hardened up like a rock in like 10 mins. When my family gave the restaurant a call about this, they were tryna make excuses about their manager not being present, So we agreed upon the manager calling us back to discuss this issue and maybe give us a refund - but no the manager hasnt called back yet and its been soooo long. If youre charging someone money, at least give good quality, fresh and yummy food lol. Never ordering from here again.....
