Wok This Way

I've been to Wok This way a handful of times since its close to my uni, and every time I go there I'm reminded why I don't. Today I ordered the pan fried pork dumplings and the chicken and cashews with vegetables. When it arrived at my table, the chicken was a pile of grey lumps soaked in some beige-coloured sauce, and didn't really taste like anything. The veggies were nice, but its pretty hard to stuff up veggies. The dumplings were overcooked and a little burnt around the edges, and the soy sauce they provided must have been heavily diluted with vinegar because that was all I could taste.

Best Chinese food in Melbourne. I've been eating here for almost ten years now and never have I been dissatisfied. The owner is always in great mood. They usually have meals cooked within 10 minutes of ordering and are more than happy to alter dishes as requested. Always delicious and piping hot. If you want cold drinks with meals I suggest going to the supermarket across the road on the next block.. much cheaper and you can walk there and back while your meal cooks.

Very poor dish, Take away, lemon grass chicken with veg on rice $13.90, 95% steamed rice, 8 small bite size pieces chicken, 4 midget pieces broccoli and a desert spoon of shaved carrot and next to no Sauce Absolute RIP OFF. How they can feel good about serving that up to someone is unbelievable. Lift ya game chefs. PS big tip, pay $3.00 Extra for No Rice & you might get some value but check before leaving the shop. I should have and I would have asked for a refund. Best have the eat in service.

I've worked in South Melbourne for 3 years and find myself visiting Wok This Way once or twice a week. It's a friendly little eatery that has good food and is inexpensive for the area. The menu has a good assortment of your typical Chinese fare with over 80 different dishes on a menu that spans two walls. The Hot and Sour soup is fantastic as is their Shiitake Mushroom and Chicken on rice.
