The Kebab Factory

Whilst enjoying a sunny afternoon in Carlton we stumbled across this Turkish gem of a restaurant. Figured we'd stop in for refreshments and something light. The owners were friendly and had an at table ordering service in place. The system was easy to navigate and our order came out quickly. Upon our next visit I'd definitely suggest trying a traditional Turkish kebab.

Spied from our hotel window diagonally opposite, IloveIstanbul beckoned for the evening takeaway for these weary travellers. How fortunate the Deluxe lamb kebab platters with rice and salad were not only delicious but generous, we only needed one between two! Two kinds of dips and Turkish bread topped it off. Value!

One of the great Turkish/ Arabic eateries in Fitzroy. Visited this place earlier but last one when the lockdown was eased and visitors were allowed with vaccination proofs. The lady at the front desk is very friendly, always checking with you if you are comfortable with the food, served food on time, We have tried mixed Kebabs plate, fries and Turkish rice. Overall a nice experience.

Edit: they stopped doing donner and it seems to be a very chewy meat now. The Donner kebabs here are so so great. The turkish bread is always so fresh. A really good balance with an very generous amount of tender meat, not greasy at all. Good Garlic sauce and the salad is always fresh. Good either takeaway or ordered online for delivery. Good value too. Reply; the lamb would only be superior if it wasn’t cheap chewy cuts of meat. Bring back the doner until you can serve great real lamb that isn’t like leather bootlaces.

Beautiful beautiful food and service! I'm from Brisbane, and it was so nice to visit this local restaurant. They also managed to cater food for vegans and special dietary requirements. Even though they were very busy and severely understaffed, their customer service was still fantastic and they managed to make me feel really welcome! If I'm ever back in Melbourne again I will definitely be back! <3
