Sal's Pizzeria

Proper NY style pizza pie joint. Stick to their more simple pizza offerings. Have found they tend to be greasy when loaded with additional toppings especially pepperoni, meatballs, cheese. If ordering after 7PM I get a whole pie as it’ll be cooked fresh. Buying by the slice is good for lunch as the pie is fresh. After 7PM they seem like they’ve been sitting around. And keep in mind the pizza really is a NY style pie. They’re yuuge. One pizza will feed three. Or stuff two. And the box is too big to fit in either the fridge or oven when you’re left with the inevitability leftovers. The box is too big for the garbage shute too. I was expecting amazing, however while I found the pizza quite good, I didn't think is was anything super special. Maybe it was just a personal taste thing, but Sal's didn't do it for me. We have no Sals Pizza in my home city of Adelaide, so I wanted to try it. The highlight was the dipping sauces and the condiments you can shake on your pizza.. We spent $50 and ordered a Margherita, A pepperoni and some mozzarella sticks. The service and wait time was not super either. I will try again in case it was just a bad night, but for now, 3 stars from me.
