Mexico City

We have been to Mexico and we are pretty fussy - this place is as close as it gets. From the mezcal margaritas to the yummy tacos the Mexican food and atmosphere at Mexico City is fabulous. A cosy yet charming place with first class service and great food with an awesome selection of tequila - it is a must to visit when in Middle Park.

Ignore some of the comments below as they were obviously for the Spanish restaurant at the same address years ago. Mexico City Tequila Bar has been operating for about 10 months (as of Oct '17). The service here is warm and friendly, caters for everyone - families, couples, dates and get togethers. The food is always tasty and they have a good list of drinks.

Apart from the in-your-face argumentative waiter/owner/manager, the food was substandard. 3 of the 8 course Xmas-in July special menu was made up of grilled prawns, butter and garlic tossed mushrooms and small cubes of potatoes with aioli.... is this really the Spanish cuisine? I can make them better at home and I'm not Spanish... the roast lamb was so tough it was inedible, with the exception of the smokey flavor the Xmas soup was tasteless. There were 10 of us there and that makes 20 thumbs down.
