Edwin Wine Bar And Cellar

Delicious food with huge variety of wines!!! Greatness and congrats to the Kitchen team. The staff is just simple the best, they will look after your tables and makes the dinner unfortunately experience! The environment is nice, just to black to me... but has that good bar vibe which is fare well. Highly recommended to visit it at least ones.

Where to start Ambience. Great Staff. Attentive and responsive Menu. Usual story. Meat chicken fish Ordered a bread board. Great accompanying butter. Had the chicken. Presentation wow. Comes with a corn base and I'm picking a pea puree underneath or a jus. Chicken. Cooked to perfection. Underseasoned to oblivion Seasoning aka pepper on plate side was tasteless. All in all bland. Bland and bland. Very disappointed. As I said appearances OMG, but zero flavour. The corn was great but how do you mess up corn. So for a maybe 4* it's a 2*. I read reviews and was all excited. Average. Sigh

First the good things, the ambience is nice, good is tasty (done well, but nothing unique) and the Shiraz and GSM I had by glass was good too, not your run of the mill mass market wines. Unfortunately, I think the food is overpriced at the list price for the quantities received. Luckily I had a 50% discount so it wasn't an issue for me. My biggest issue was that for a wine bar, the variety of wine avaliable by the glass is very limited. From memory there was only 4 or 5 reds on offer, a far cry from other wine bars I've visited. I understand that they might want to present local wines and avoided international stuff, but it would be nice to try different shiraz from Victoria for example instead of limited to 1 shiraz from Heathcote. I did not feel like I was at a wine bar at all.

The atmosphere and the staff were really nice and welcoming! However, I was really disappointed by the quality of food and service. The staff seemed to know pretty well about wines but clearly was not experienced with pouring it as they had some spills here and there :( Also, when they cleared the table during entree and main, they left spots of food on the table which I had to clean it up myself.. For entree, I had green beans but they were not cooked as they were too crunchy.. As for the main, I ordered porterhouse steak and the meat was juicy but it was too chewy and hard for a medium rare (which was chef's recommendation). At the end, our table spent around $200-$250 but we left with some of our food untouched. Was pretty disappointed by the quality of food... would not want to come back again.

They offer an extensive list of specialty wines hand-picked by globally renowned sommelier, Dan Sims. And the entire list is made up of Victorian producers, with a balance of regions, varietals and even a balance of male and female makers. . And it doesn’t just stop there, infact gets better. if we talk about their food offering, its just mind blowing. So well presented and so delicious in taste. Their menu is neat with dishes that balance well with their amazing wine 🍷 collection. Starting with starters: • Duck liver éclair • Amazing parfait • So very delish Duck Terrine Coming to mains: • Roasted pumpkin in buttermilk & curry leaves • Spring greens, fresh corn & brioche salad • Lamb saddle, soubisle & celery • Pasta of the day : Linguine with duck, mushroom & goat cheese . We would definitely recommend this place to go and celebrate any special occasion or just celebrate life!!
