The Corner Store

Very nice local restaurant. Have been here before longer time ago for breakfast with friends. On this occasion we have celebrated Birthday. Our reservations choice was table outside. And we were pleased with this as whether was perfect. Excellent service. Have to highlight that Andrew was so nice, caring, polite, professional that we would come back strait away. Thank you Andrew. Food we ordered was very tasty, specifically Bavette 1 kilogram. Prawn and mango salad was very nice too. Only for calamari as main, wouldn't give 5 star. Wedges and kids burger and Penne bolognese have been good. Great choice of all drinks, non alcoholic and alcoholic. Tumb up to all friendly staff. We have been looked after. Definitely will come back.

Lovely. Great menu with inventive adaptations of classic dishes. Great coffee!! I was here for breakfast and will aim to come back for dinner and the thoughtfully selected wine list. Really pleasant and professional service. Spacious modern interior with quirky retro “general store” theme and lots of outdoor seating. Near the train station and bus routes. Great example of an outer suburban eatery punching above its weight. Highly recommended.

Good service. Main gripe was menu was different than the menu on their website. Different pricing and different dishes, which was disappointing as I'd picked this dining option due to the menu selection. Calamari and salad beautiful but overpriced at $38 for a main. Fish used in the fish burger and the fish and chips, was so thin. Fish in the burger was dry and had a pullapart texture like chicken and was dark batter that looked overcooked. and the beer batter fish n chips was mostly batter and over half was removed. Chips great, sauces great. Just didn't meet expectations for the prices.

I'm always up for trying new places, especially in Mentone and Parkdale, so we went to The Corner Store for Burger night last week. The Burgers looked and tasted like a 5 year old had thrown them together. So bland! The staff were so lovely, honestly went above and beyond, but the guys in the kitchen really need to pay more attention. Plus I had a very unhappy stomach the next morning! What a shame, as the atmosphere and interior are lovely. Doubt I would bother going back.

Absolutely lovely place! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the ambience is amazing. Absolutely loved the decor and the vibe of the place!! There was so many options for a variety of diets. Loved the multiple choices of vegan options. The vegan burger was so crispy and full of flavour. Just needed some sauce to take it to the next level. The prawns were cooked to perfection and the tomatoes were fresh and firm. There was a nice combination of herbs used. The dessert was absolutely insane. The deconstructed cheesecake was heavenly and the perfect dish to end the meal. There was savoury, sweet and freshness making it the ultimate combination. Nothing bad to say about that dish! Just wanted more. The milkshake was flavoursome and tasted exactly like bounty. The orange juice was fresh and the perfect palette cleanser. Definitely recommend this place!! There is lots of seating inside and out! Will guarantee to have friendly service and delicious food.
