La Carreta

I came for breakfast. I was a little disappointed with the breakfasts don’t come with cafe con leche and bacon or ham. They want to change for all that separate. Fine but the bacon was hard and cold and the French fries. So if you are going to charge extra. At least make it fresh They need to change the breakfast to how they used to be.

My first time here at this very well-known and local favorite! And, of course, I couldn’t stop in without getting their specialty, the Cuban sandwich! We dined inside, but I love that there was a walk up window where people were just coming and going getting their Cordoditos and enchiladas, either by the single double or triple, and standing right there and eating them at the window! They even had tabes outside with no stools, just standing tables for people to just eat a quick enchilada or drink a quick Cuban coffee and then runoff! It is definitely a Miami thing! I loved the vibe. The service was excellent! Although there was a language barrier, there were no worries because just point to the menu and everything was brought to you all in good time. The food was outstanding and need I say more, when you’re looking for good Cuban food, this should be your place to come when you’re in Kendall! and I’m going to give it all five stars!

Cuban food is a special treat for me. My family would come down to Florida every summer to see family and getting Cuban food was always a highlight. La Carreta was exceptional! Service was prompt and the food came out hot and fresh very quickly. I only wish I had a bigger appetite so I could have gotten some key lime pie. I'll have to make sure on my return I leave some room!

La Carreta is a classic and always a good comfort spot to bring friends and family to. Stopped in earlier this afternoon for lunch with my mom and abuela, and the food was absolutely delicious and so filling. It's a lot more affordable than other places you'd find in Miami, and the service has always been great, as well. We usually start with Tostones Rellenos and highly recommend them; they're crispy, flavorful, and fresh. I tried the margarita, La Guayabera, and it was really good. Come in on a Wednesday or Sunday for the Tamal en Casuela (tamal porridge), it's one of the family's favorites dishes here and is consistently amazing.
