My husband and I stumbled across this restaurant and it was an amazing experience. It’s super cute and quaint. The food was delicious. The owner was there and was very friendly. Highly recommend and you won’t be disappointed. It was our favorite dinner in Montauk!

What a great spot! It was late at night and close to closing time yet the staff was SO FRIENDLY and accommodating. We loved our experience at Tiny Harbor and cannot wait to go back. Please open a sister restaurant on the North Fork!!

My husband and I have been visiting Montauk together since we were freshly in college. We have dairy allergies and my husband has a seafood allergy, which means eating has always been a point of failure for us every time we take the trip out. When we found Tiny Harbor Asian Cafe, we heavily doubted the possibility of top-notch Asian food in Montauk, especially at a reasonable price. I'm so so glad to say that we were dead wrong.
We showed up for dinner on the cafe's first day open for the season and left feeling like we discovered the best kept little secret. Upon arriving, the smell of smoked meats immediately excited us, but ultimately we tried none since we filled ourselves on dim sum without realizing (the smoked duck and smoked pork bao were really calling to me, though). The outdoor seating at picnic tables was spacious and allowed us to feel super safe--I only wish we were there a bit later to see the string lights come on against the sunset. As the season just opened, the menu was limited but included some staples; we settled on vegetarian egg rolls (but were DYING to try the smoked pork ones), pan fried pork and leek dumplings, and mixed seasonal vegetables.
Pork and leek dumplings: These were so juicy I almost burned myself. The leek comes through without being overpowering, and the soy/sesame dipping sauce cut the fattiness so well. The wrapper is delightfully chewy and flavorful. They also came with sweet chili sauce, but I recommend putting, if anywhere, on the...
...Egg rolls: shatteringly crisp, mild in flavor but veggie packed. The veggies here are similar to the combo in the mixed vegetable side, but I'm not sure if this changes seasonally (should've asked!). It's a bittersweet reality that every time I get an egg roll from now on, I'll be wishing it was this one.
Mixed veg: Similar vegetable combination to what was in the egg roll, but dressed with fresh aromatics, sesame oil, and a hint of Sichuan peppercorn. For folks that are wary of the signature mála numbing sensation given off by biting into a Sichuan peppercorn, this is a mild introduction. The veggies were crisp, bright, and dressed only to enhance their natural flavor, not overpower it--they tasted like VEGGIES. I can't tell you how nice it was to be able to taste the freshness of local produce, not an overcooked plate of mush. I'd gladly take more Sichuan peppercorn (just not to the point of my tongue going entirely numb for a half hour) but I understand the need to be gentle when not everyone is used to or enjoys the sensation. I could eat these veggies by the shovelful.
BONUS mini dumplings: These are a mini version of the pork and leeks dumplings topped with black sesame and some sesame oil. Not only are they PRECIOUS but there were no compromises on flavor. They were springy, juicy, meaty--everything you could possibly want.
Not pictured--wonton chips with cinnamon sugar: I couldn't resist and got these to go for dessert later that night. Picture a few handfuls of perfectly golden deep fried wonton skins dusted liberally with cinnamon sugar. They were outrageously crunchy, perfectly sweet and gently spiced. Went super well with a Long Drink after dinner.
Overall, I look forward to returning to the Eastern tip almost exclusively to revisit Tiny Harbor. I'm not going to list my favorite spots across the Flushing and Manhattan Chinatowns that this place could compete with, but know that they could easily make a killing in the boroughs. My only regret is that we came too late in the season to visit multiple nights; I would've loved to be around for their take on cumin lamb. And I still want those bao!
Shout out to Mary and chef David for giving us the consummate vacation dining experience and enticing us to come back soon!

Great addition to Montauk food options - we ordered items to go and picked them up - the green noodles, the crab rice and the kale salad - all was very delicious - Nice staff and order was ready in the time they told us - looking forward to trying some other dishes again soon!
