Capitol Oyster Bar

Honestly, probably the best seafood I’ve had in 10 years, and I used to work at an upscale seafood restaurant. The shrimp tasted like buttery lobster, and the oysters were the largest and the freshest I’ve ever had. Excellent fried okra and coleslaw as well. You really can’t miss out on this place, you gotta stop by if you’re in the area. 10/10

Folks this is a really iconic place. Don’t go here expecting some fancy restaurant with valet parking, tablecloths and waiters in white. But If you want some good fried seafood or ice cold oysters on the half shell and a laid back atmosphere with a view of the river then yes. This is what we call a dive but it’s not a derogatory term it’s just what it is. We had raw then po-boys. You cannot go wrong. Sit out back on the porch. This is a great stopping point if you’re headed south to the beach. Decent service and good food. We will definitely be going back. UrbanCowgill May 2022

Service was great. Didnt get 4 stars because 1- all disposable items. Cups, plates, silverware, shot glasses. Dont like feeling like im at a picnic not to mention the waste it is. Not horrible tho Food was almost perfect. Beer cold and good, fries and hish puppies good. Catfish was cooked well also, only complaint was had a slight weird aftertaste. Like old oil or something or old foam plates or something. Otherwise, it was good. Id come back if in the area.

We loved the seating and the views of the river. The Bartender was amazing and her drinks were excellent. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful -But- We waited over an hour for our food and the food was cold when it came out, the cook sent out the wrong orders and after everything we were over charged.
