La Jolla

Best meal in the Montgomery area! We had a large group but service was fast and everything was delicious. We started with lamb chops, frog legs, tuna nachos, lobster bisque and bruschetta. Pork chops, steaks, gumbo and chicken entrees were all perfect. And they have a great bar with creative as well as classic cocktails.

La jolla is my favorite American style restaurant in montgomery. I come here all the time especially when they add something new to the menu. Most of the food is cooked on a giant green egg. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is great Michael, David, Lisa, Steve, Daminan, and Sam to name a few always make you feel welcome.

La Jolla is a Montgomery staple, I first ate here at the original location at the Shoppes At Eastchase. Love the new La Jolla’s more intimate space. This visit we shared the tuna nachos and chicken skins appetizers. I ordered the salmon piccata and my husband ordered the limited edition burger. The burger changes every week, this one had elk, duck, and bison mixed together. We both were quite satisfied.

The atmosphere is nice for a date night or just to hang with friends. I ordered the lamb chops along with the Artisan Lettuce and Fried Goat Cheese salad, which were DELICIOUS!!! They were seasoned very well. We also experienced great service even though we had a large group. If you have a group I do recommend making a reservation. We were seated immediately upon arrival (at our reservation time). Glasses were refilled and orders taken at a timely manner. The waitress kept checking on us and no one in our party had a complaint.

So we wanted to have a girls night and last minute we wanted to try a new place! Boy, did we choose the right location. Although reservations are recommended, we were able to share a bar table with a wonderful family. I ordered the Lamb Chop & Smoked Pear Gastrique paired with a warm potato and fried onions salad. When I tell you this meal was excellent, I am 100% truthful. The lamb was tender and flavorful. I haven't had lamb this good in a very long time. I had to stop myself from licking the bones!! The potatoes and fried onions were also flavorful! Onions were crispy and the potatoes had the best texture! The service was top notch and the server answered all of my questions without hesitation!

Love the food, and the cocktails. I also really like our bartender Cody. I did have a little bit of an issue with I assume the other bartender Steve. I felt that he was rude to me, and also did not want to serve me. I do admit that we had been driving all day with 3 dogs, and maybe at that point looked maybe like we didn't belong there, but it was late, and we really love the food there. Maybe he should take a class in customer service.
