Still Water Bistro

* Edit July 1st 2018. What happened to this place?? Oh yeah, they got rid of the best thing they had, Chef Heidi! Who is the moron that made that decision??? The only reason I came back to this place and why anybody came in here, was because Heidi was there and was an amazing chef who cared about the quality of food she served. (Like a good chef should) The portions are smaller now and you can tell they are not using fresh ingredients anymore. I'm embarrassed for the people that have to work here now. I give it a month. 5 stars went to 1 star. ( And the 1 is for the view) * 6/2/18 The new chef Heidi is amazing. She is a first class gourmet chef who brought her talents back home to Lake Conroe from an upscale resort in Houston. She has transformed the menu into a delicious treat for the senses. She makes everything from scratch and you can really taste the difference. I highly recommend this little bistro on the lake. Update 6/9/18 - just had breakfast. What a treat! Eggs Benedict was amazing. Saw a CFS someone else ordered and it looked awesome. Asked the guy and he loved it. I'll be back again and again. 6/16/18 brought my daughter in for breakfast and chef Heidi did it again. Love this place.

I had friends up from Houston for the weekend and we wanted to eat on the lake. We stopped into the very hot, always loud, usually overcrowded Sam's Boat, but the wait for a table outside was an hour. No can do, as we were hungry. Fajita Jack's was packed too. Not wanting to disappoint my guests, I remembered there was a hard to see place tucked behind the Valero on Marina Drive. So, we gave it a shot and were so glad we did! There were levels of outside seating with tables available right on the water. The music was not so loud that we couldn't have a conversation, yet loud enough so that we could enjoy it. The service was fantastic, and the owner, Robert, stopped by every table to make sure his guests were enjoying themselves. I saved the best for last . . . THE FOOD!!! All of our meals - a Pan Seared Salmon, a Salmon Salad, and a Fried Shrimp Basket - were absolutely delicious and definately a welcomed change to the other restaurants on the lake I frequent. If I could give Still Water Bistro 10 stars I would, and I couldn't recommend more highly that you check it out. They also serve breakfast and lunch.
