My favourite restaurant in Montréal. The dishes are absolutely delicious, freshly made in front of your eyes and served by extremely friendly staff. The salmon and tuna bowl is by far my favourite dish, however I’ve tried several others and was never disappointed. Waiting lines are worth it in my opinion!

How do they not have a Michelin Star yet? Still my favorite place. Don't get 2 fried things at once...it is a lot of fry but their unique sauces and skillfully decorated plates are unmatched. Pictures are fried cod heads ($10 for 2) and deep fried pork belly with salad ($22) but the salad was too much for the pork dish unless you really really bean sprouts :)

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Montreal. Small place with open kitchen concept, 4 seats at the kitchen bar and 7 tables that fit two or four. There's usually a lineup outside as they don't take reservations so it's first come first serve. We went at 5pm and we were five. We waited 20 to be seated which was amazing considering there were lots of people already at the place. We had the salmon tartar, crispy black cod and Kalbi beef. Each dish was incredibly delicious and beyond satisfying. We also enjoyed their tofu kimchi appetizer. Their ice cream is not to be missed. This place is a must for those with a refined palate for Japanese and Korean food. The next time I go, I want to experience sitting at the bar to watch the chefs do their magic.

Despite my name - I am actually Japanese and for the first time since moving here I felt like I was eating real Japanese food. We ordered the bone marrow yakitori, forty eight hour pork w/ curry and deep fried beans - all of which were excellent. With that said, as is usually the case with small plate restaurants, the dish you least expect ends up being the highlight of the meal. Today, the green beans were no exception to this rule. The combination of rich truffle mayo and salty and crunchy beans was perfect. I was also surprised to find actual vegetable chunks in the curry. Personally, I prefer when restaurant opt to make a more homestyle sauce instead of blending it smooth. Overall, a fantastic meal. Will definitely be bringing my Japanese mother here.

INCREDIBLE food! The 48 hour pork with curry was solid, but I HIGHLY suggest trying the salmon and tuna bowl. Absolutely incredible- it was light and fresh and everything I could possibly ask for in a meal. For dessert I tried the Kahlua ice cream which was really delicious (keep in mind that it is just vanilla soft serve with kahlua on top). The plum wine is worth a try as well. Prices were very reasonable- the dishes were under $15 each. I got here on a Monday evening around 6 and while there was no wait, the place was packed. Despite this, the food came in minutes! Heads up- the restaurant is a bit crammed.

This restaurant is more like an Izakaya, given the cramped seating and their tapas-filled menu. I ordered around eight dishes, and while I loved how fast it was all served, the table honestly didn't have the space to accommodate everything. The saving grace here is the food quality; everything I ordered was delicious, and I'd say, just worth the price and waiting outside.

My favorite restaurant of all time. I've been going here since 2012 and I can honestly day that they consistently blow my mind every single time. There's always something new to try and everything in their menu is delicious from starters, main meals, desserts and their drinks. My friend and I got there right when they opened on a saturday at 5pm and we were seated in front of the kitchen and it was the best spot. Seeing them in action was fascinating. The staff are so organize and efficient. My friend and I ordered about 9 items in total and spent 63$ + tip each. In the pictures: Bbq eel, oysters, takoyaki, 48 hour pork, chirashi zushi Everyone should at least try this restaurant more than once! Yes there's the waiting in line as this is a small restaurant but it's worth the experience and the service is fast.
