Porto Mar

If you're in the mood for some Spanish and Portuguese fare, Porto Mar is a decent place to check out. The food is pretty meh and mediocre, but it's worth checking out if you're in the area. The service is okay and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but it's a decent place to grab a bite. Just don't expect anything amazing.

Came across this place while we were walking around in Old Montreal, and decided to stop in for lunch. The server was very courteous and friendly, and for our entrees we went ahead with the suggested daily seafood specials of cod and swordfish which were prepared in a very simple and clean manner. Really enjoyed the traditional nautical themed decor as well.

Visited on a quiet Tuesday evening, we were greeted by our server with olives and bread. We went for the table d’hôte and everything from the appetizer to dessert was delicious. The ambiance music was great and not so loud, service was also great and friendly. The kitchen was a bit slow between the appetizers and main courses - a bit surprising given that it wasn’t busy- but worth the wait time. The house wine was better than expected! Definitely recommend checking out this place for an affordable and delicious meal in the Old Port 🤩

Wonderful place in Old Montréal. We had to bump our reservation twice in one night and host never snickered. Once we arrived we were greeted with a wonderful smile. Service was amazing and the food matched. The restaurant is located inside an older building so the interior is beautiful. Even getting the the restroom was a wonderful experience (you'll understand once you go). We will definately come back when we visit the city again!
