This place is a true embodiment of a "piazza" as my Italian fiancé would say, or a communal space where everyone can come together for their shared addiction; caffeine.
The staff is homely, personable, and I feel like I'm going to a family members place for a coffee, and the fact that I can run into friends and family there as well really enhances the vibe of mercanti.
I sometimes find the coffee a hair bitter, and slightly acidic for my taste, but that's just my taste, however overall, this place is a staple in NDG.

I think the shop was renovated during COVID. It’s definitely different from the pictures on google.

The coffee in this place is something special. The service is kind and efficient and the number of customers on the line to get a great coffee clear show the differentiation for another coffee shops around the area. The only problem is a lack of options to eat, maybe some hot choices will also make a difference.

Great little coffee shop, the baristas are always so friendly and the coffee is top tier. You can buy roasted beans there and they will grind them for you if you like. ♡

The cappuccino was very good. Quaint little cafe. There's seating outdoors to the right of the establishment. Perfect for sipping the cappuccino and people watching.

Very high quality coffee, superbe customer service, family-like atmosphère. Been the go to spot for me and my girlfriend for takeout once a week during the pandemic and that spot always provides a warm feeling we take home. It’s worth the detour even if you’re not from the area!
